Qabbani: Divisions Will Drag Lebanon towards Sectarian Conflicts

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani noted on Sunday that Lebanon is passing through a very dangerous and critical phase.

He warned: “Divisions among the Lebanese will pave the way to dragging them towards sectarian conflicts.”

He made his remarks on the occasion of the Prophet Mohammed's birthday, which falls on Monday.

“The wise and reasonable people among us must realize the sensitivity of the situation in Lebanon because maintaining the country's stability and security is everyone's responsibility,” stressed Qabbani.

Furthermore, he said that any action that does not enjoy the consensus of all powers will lead to fragmentation and division among the people.

“The people's unity is crucial in deciding their fate and they should steer clear of statements that incite division,” added the mufti.

He hoped that political powers will succeed in forming a government that will revitalize state institutions.

He's a Syrian sheikh because you defend him FT and collaborators praise him. That's why.

Thumb IndependentThinker 12 January 2014, 15:44

What are you talking about? There are divisions already, and they have lead us to whatever Hezb wants.

Default-user-icon Illusionist (Guest) 12 January 2014, 15:45

I wonder why all your comments are irrationnal and out of context, why cant you all remmember that he was chased out of the mosque not long time ago, he's hated by sunniites, if he had any decency he would have resigned. But what the hell, this is Lebanon, maintening your position even if hated is more valuable than honour and respect.

Thumb chrisrushlau 12 January 2014, 16:07

If the Sunni leadership did not support the enslavement of Muslims under the Taef Accord's distribution of seats in Parliament by sect, this slavery could not continue.

Thumb lebinaus 12 January 2014, 16:19

Yeah you are so right .. If the imported mercenaries from Pakistan, Libya, Iran, Jordan and Syria didn't came to the AID of the Palestinians and their Lebanese Sunni counterparts in forcing a mass exodus of Christians from Lebanon, we would never have wound up at Taef ...

Thumb smarty 12 January 2014, 16:19

This mufti is a nobody. why does he get media coverage?

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 16:47

inti sid ni3ak, have nothing to do with people talking and moderation when you represent hizbola here.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 18:08

Assir is as terrorist as hizbolah..,

I am pro Lebanese army ONLY.

Missing greatpierro 13 January 2014, 11:03

what moderation. He is just seeking the protection of hizbullah as the sunni community at large wants him to quit as he has been selling waqf land with his sons and robbing the sunni community in Lebanon. It has nothing to do with moderation. It is sadly just partisan politics. M8 should not extend their arms to a corrupt mufti.

Missing greatpierro 13 January 2014, 11:14

you will deny it for ever, but mustaqbal and m14 were against assir. Even assir accused hariri of being against him.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 16:57

Have nothing to do with education, lowlife, and only here to fill your hate against people who want peace. Hizbola that you support: is formed from people who did: Kidnap, kill innocent people, terrorized lebanese and syrians, traded with drugs, want to control lebanon by force. what education are you talking about?

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 17:15

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 17:29

Assir is a criminal Just like your Qawook and other well connected hizbola criminals. Weather a sunni or chi3a that promote hate ... i will be strongly against.
Have no blood in my hands like your brothers in Hizbolah every where. Hate all fanatics including people who do not want to put the government institutions above their own sects.

I a, pro Lebanese Army. As for Hizbola and their plans to take control the country and of our army ... I am clearly against you and hizbola

Missing greatpierro 13 January 2014, 11:19

what about the hizbullahi that was caught trying to plant a bomb at Butros Harb office and then was released. What about the killer of Samer Hanna? What about the MEA IT guy that was kidnapped on the airport road? What about the suspect that Hizbullah would not deliver to the STL? What about the bombing of the Marines and French HQ in the 80's? What about the bombing of the US ambassy in Ain el Mreisseh? What abut the idnapping of French, Britons, Germans and US citizens in the 80's and early nineties.
You imbecile master michel aoun once said that hizbullah was the cleanest militia during the civil war. No wonder you are what you are poor FT.

There's nothing really personal, except to say that when a constituency starts refusing in majority a leader, then that leader must read such signals and accept that his welcome has been consumed to the full. Maybe Grand Mufti Qabbani is moderate, and maybe his constituency of previous believe that he is subservient to a side they no longer trust, all could be read in anyone's ways, but I am sure that another moderate person could replace G.M Qabbani and come to do a better job at bridging differences between different communities. Times are such that they do dictate on us to find the right people for the right times.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 18:56

Only if Syrian and Lebanese Blood is on your hands, You kidnapped people to Dahyee, Burned and spread threats to people that opose you by words... you used weapons... then yes.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 17:13

Prove that Hizbola people are low life terrorists? That is the SUN: Beside the fact that you are Clearly forming your own ARMY (clear for you) Their own communications (beside the legetimate one (Clear enough) kidnapping people on the route to Airport road, many Clearly were taken to Hizbola support areas (Clear proof when Hizb peopole came and ask Cameras to be turned way so Kidnap happens, The Fact that Hizbola people did the kidnapings of Americans in the eighties where you were a baby, add to them the bombings of embassies (hizbola for sure. Remember the war that was wagged against the Lebanese Army in the Souk Algharb, and the waves of attacks by Hizbola ..everyone knows that...
Do you want clearer than the fact that you contributed to the fights agains amal where people where being bouchered in Iqlim al toufa7 by Hizbolah people..

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 17:59

If it happen(ed) That does not mean that it is gone.. there is still an action done by these lowlife terrorists .. Well well... and Killing Innocent people in Syria is old? Your hands are still killing as we speak. People in Syria will not forgive Hizbollah no matter how you try to play with words and give excuses ... The emotional pains and scars that is taking place now by Hizbollah will be hard to heal especially that no will to withdraw or saying you are sorry.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 18:39

They are Terrorists since day one. In What dream did you think that Hizbola is ok for Me? The fact that I or that anyone that I support did any error then I will admit it. Unlike you or your hizbola.
If Some of the people that I support sat down with hizbola ... That is a mjor mistake. Sitting down with a criminal, Terrorist group (Supported by Islamic republic of backward Iran) even if Hizbola Lowlife, people voted for them, I still think is a major error.

FT is getting more desperate by the day, his use of low insults prove how much he is empty so tries to look strong by insulting...

let me remind you that your aoun, baby boy , repeated for years that till the assads rule syria then nothing good can happen to lebanon... but of course, as a coward you are, you forgot that ...

you cannot stand one that reminds you how much your master turned his back on his principles just for a handful of dollars, and weak minds like you believe it is for lebanon! LOL

keep insulting, it shows how desperate you are of your uncertain future alongside the hezbi terrorists (that aoun also called to disarm, and called terrorists in case your weak mind forgot, piece of shit, as you seem to particularly enjoy every thing that smells like shit, scatologic baby boy)

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 17:14

Did you forget the attacks against TV's in Beirut just because you don't like what they say... what proof you want more than that because there are so many I don't want to waste my time telling you what you already know .. Rook 3alina .... if you think that you believe yourself is enough you are wrong. Hizbollah are real low life sectarian gangs, hidden under the face of defending a sect... go and see the youtube killings in syria ..and then tell me where is the proof.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 18:06

Hey KId, Hizbollah are as terrorists as your "tekfiries" because they came from the same source "The Islamic Republic of (Backward) Iran. So remeber the Bombigs that started with the formation of the Rev Guards and hizbola of Iran andLebanon? It is the same school that Bin Ladin or Nusra or whatever they are called, all haad their training in Iran or under iranians somewhere. No fake stories there ,... Your Hizbola is a cancer every one in the world and Lebanon knows that except the Heart blinded people.

I think when HA black-shirted thugs roamed the streets of Beirut for intimidation purposes to enable the creation of a Cabinet - that was an action that does NOT enjoy the consensus of ALL Lebanese" (is it this and dozen other examples what you had in mind honorable MUFTI?). Please Mufti, practice what you preach. Should I go on counting the actions by HA that do not have consensus but are forced on all of us Lebanese?

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 18:42

Yalla fight, fight. Like we didn't know re. such divisions will occur when each side starting kissing the derriers of their respective master, Iran and KSA, in return for money. Wow is this what Lebanon boiled down to? Shaab'el AAnif. Truly laughable.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 19:35

When did March 14 get missiles and weapons to control Lebanon? The Islamic Republic of Iran, Rev Guard wing truly is forming supporting arming Hizbola... it is not right to say both are doing the same thing.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 19:22

To Sephon: "the role of Hezb at the Syrian border and some strategics site is to prevent the flow of those extremists into .. Lebanon"

Yes, But the problem is Hezbolah, themselves, are part of Tekfiri mentality, with an edge, the are almost controlling a multi ethnic country like Lebanon.

Thumb freedomarch 12 January 2014, 23:54

If you are trying to form a logical point, It is a joke. Who cares about your opinion regarding Qabani,if he is really a moderate person or not, he is rejected by his own community for many reasons.
Add to this that he is rejected by all politicians without exception and the fact that Hizbola is miserably trying to infiltrate between the Sunni majority and Qabanni in a clear attempt grow up this rift to add to the vacuums it's creating to control the country.

i have no religion, just see what they lead to... though i respect those who truly believe and keep it for themselves. religions never taught hatred or wars only when they mix religion with politics. but lebanon mixes both, and both politicians and religious people use it to better manipulate their sheep and their sheep cannot see how manipulated they are by religions and politicians...
lebanese do not deserve lebanon... they would be better off in a country where there is nothing as they do not realize the chance they have to live here... poor country

Thumb freedomarch 13 January 2014, 02:29

To Saluhi, Lebanon is a multi-faith country, it would not be right to defend your sect here. If you are what you say you are.
