إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةOne person was killed and five others wounded after a water tanker driver lost control of his vehicle near Hotel Dieu hospital in Beirut's district of Ashrafieh.
In the rush-hour accident, the truck crashed into seven cars.
According to the state-run National News Agency, one person was critically wounded in the accident.
The Traffic Management Center said the truck lost its brakes and the driver couldn't stop his vehicle.
This road aslan is dangerous, the u-turns are not separated from the rest of the road and like most of the highways in lebanon the road is too tight. allah yer7amo.
"The Traffic Management Center." Really, Lebanon has such a centre. Sorry, couldn't help but see a little humor in that.
Has anyone else noticed how people are just driving worse with every passing day? I saw a guy on a motorbike driving down the middle of the wrong side of the highway just last week. Worse yet are the fools on their phones driving like zombies. The amount of drunk drivers or speed deamons that race right by the police cars. Just because our government is in paralysis mode, does'nt mean that the traffic police don't enforce the rules of the road...
The Traffic Management Centre could use a good investigator like you. "The truck has got nothing." case closed.
No FT, no need to chill out, the best thing would be to bring back the hanging pole for anyone who because of reckless driving kills others. Do you remember that accident in Jdeideh some years back late night, when two young sisters got killed when they were on green and the offender on red? Well guess FT, the guy is free like a bird because the rich dad paid his way out of his son's trouble, and the two girls now rest high above. Our problem does not reside with mad people using our roads but rather on impunity. There are people today who feel they are above the law. A Lebanese kills other people? Fine, if he has the cash, he will get free. A Syrian kills another person? Fine, just take to your heels and run out of Lebanon. You are connected? Don't worry, it will be fixed. It all boils down to our total lack of laws and those who must enforce them. One pole, one rope, one time, and see how things will change, for the better.
