Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi said Sunday a real official does not take advantage of the people to seek his own interests.

In his sermon during mass held in Bkirki, al-Rahi lamented that Lebanese officials seek the support of their followers to get personal benefits at the expense of the nation.

A true official does not use his influence for his personal interest. On the contrary, he sacrifices for the common good, he said.

Al-Rahi hoped that the Lebanese and Christians in particular would unity and overcome their differences.

“We should come out of our differences that are a deep wound,” he said.

He warned that the latest security incidents would lead to a further deterioration in the security situation.

Al-Rahi also hoped that the long-awaited Geneva II peace talks on Syria would be successful.

The talks open open Wednesday.

If the Christians of Lebanon would be united, the whole future of Lebanon would be much better. It must be done now. Time is running out.

Aoun supporters must drink from the same Kool-Aid fountain because the sheer lack of touch with reality they spout would make an elephant cry in despair. Geagea this and Geagea that, more like Geagea Derangement Syndrome. One minute they want Geagea to shut up because he is irrelevant and all the Christians are with Aoun anyway and the next he is solely responsible for the divisions in the Christian ranks.

Oh woaw...ya jame3it aoun, your boss is never going to be president and the FPM agenda has demonstrated its utter failure over and over again. Please stop drinking Kool-Aid, don't follow either Aoun or Geagea and do what is best for Lebanon which means kiss and embrace your fellow Christian brother and get to work defying the evil facing he country.
