President Michel Suleiman held talks on Friday with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun on ways to resume the national dialogue.

They stressed that its resumption will have a positive effect on the internal scene should it be held again, adding that it will also help ease the political tensions.

The dialogue may also pave the way for a new phase in Lebanon, marked for its productivity on the governmental level.

Al-Liwaa daily reported on Friday that no progress has been made in resuming the talks, noting Suleiman’s consultations with various political leaders for this end.

Informed sources revealed that both sides of the political divide were not eager to resume the national dialogue “even if the March 8 camp appears keen on holding it.”

They explained that circumstances in Lebanon are not suitable for the talks to be held, saying that dialogue needs a lesser tensions between the rival camps.

To dialogue with whom and over what ?? One colour government doens't need dialogue .

A majority rules and the opposition opposes " democratically " !! A dialogue is necessary when there is a government of national union , witch is no longer the case today .

@phoenecian: m8 camp were the demanders of a national unity government, even though it was not needed; as you said majority rules. But I guess this only applies to the Minority Hezbollah camp

the senile Aoun spent the first 15 min of the meeting talking to the statue in the background.

What Le Phenicien? You never make sense. Why would dialogue only be necessary in a national unity government? Dialogue is most necessary when both sides are at odds. You guys act like you own the country know that youve strong-armed your way into power. This is the exact reason why you will lose power soon enough.
