Israeli Troops Remove Parts of Spy Drone near Mays al-Jabal
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةA number of Israeli soldiers crossed the technical border fence in the Kroum al-Mrah region in southern Lebanon in order remove parts of spy drone in the area, reported the National News Agency on Tuesday.
Witnesses told NNA that the 11 soldiers removed three parts of an MK surveillance drone that had crashed in the area in mysterious circumstances.
Various media outlets said that Israeli troops also opened fire towards a Lebanese army intelligence patrol in the southern border town of Mays al-Jabal.
The Lebanese army and United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon deployed patrols in the area to monitor the situation.
Israeli fighter jets had flown at low and medium altitudes over the South at noon on Tuesday.
Later on Tuesday, the Lebanese Army issued a communique saying its units “took the appropriate defensive measures to prevent enemy forces from infiltrating Lebanese territory after an enemy patrol tried to remove parts of an Israeli unmanned drone that had crashed near the Blue Line facing the border town of Mays al-Jabal, on the side of the occupied Palestinian territories.”
The communique confirmed that an Israeli soldier had fired a gunshot in the air during the operation.
