Saniora: Hizbullah Pullout from Syria Can Boost Ties with All Lebanese, End Suicide Attacks

Former premier Fouad Saniora, head of the al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc, urged Hizbullah on Friday to “return to Lebanon” and end its military intervention in neighboring Syria, which the party argues is necessary to protect Lebanon from extremist attacks.
“We believe that there is an essential need for Hizbullah's return to Lebanon, as this move would make it gain a lot through enhancing its ties with all the components of the Lebanese people and putting an end to the excuses used by some parties to carry out suicide attacks, which we condemn and reject,” Saniora said as he inspected renovation works in downtown Sidon.
“We must all cooperate to end these unhealthy trends in the Lebanese society,” the ex-PM added.
“We should end the alibis that some might exploit to justify the acts that are targeting innocents due to Hizbullah's continued intervention in Syria,” Saniora went on to say.
Eleven people were killed and more than 100 injured when two suicide bombers blew up two bomb-laden cars near the Iranian cultural center in Beirut's Bir Hassan district on Wednesday.
The double bombing was claimed by the Qaida-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades, which said the attack was in retaliation to the role of Hizbullah and Iran in the Syrian conflict.
Extremist groups have claimed responsibility for a series of suicide attacks in recent months against areas considered strongholds of Hizbullah that have killed dozens of civilians.

Mr. American I know you like to spread the fact that Lebanons sects, are enemies and all, that is nothing new, but in reality more people inside Lebanon support Hezbollah, than the westernes outside ofcourse. Once the purported excuse is removed, then all of us Lebanese will be on the same page fighting the takfiris and their suicide bombings myself included.
Stop with your one sided tunnel vision and see things for what they are. Aoun is having a rapprochement with the future movement and M14 because he now realizes there is no military solution to the takfiri phenomenon and no valid justification to HA armed involvement in Syria.
This is not our fight, let Syrians decide for themselves. If anything, the Assads managed to destroy our country and fabric of life for more than 30 years.

I don't support M14 or M8, but by the lack of intelligent replies I certainly can understand the frustration of most of the Lebanese people when it comes to Hezbollah, the frustration of no one can justify why they exist or are needed, and the proof, well just read up, plenty of opportunity for someone to tell me, yet nothing.

Future Movement and the rest of M14 lost their credibility the moment they entered a govt with Hezbollah. If they had a 10% chance to get the votes of myself and many people like me, let's just say they blew it.
And to the person who said that blowing up the marine barracks was a heroic act, it's people like you that are keeping our country behind and taking it back to the medieval ages. I'd rather live in a country that has good relations with the US, Europe and the rest of the world than simply Iran and Assad.
