The General Directorate of State Security detained on Wednesday a gang specialized in faking vehicles license plate numbers, the state-run National News Agency reported.
The four-member gang was arrested in the northern province of Akkar, the news agency said.
Members of the state security also seized a green Mercedes 300SD.
The members were identified by their initials as M. Aa., F. H., H. B., M. F.
The NNA said that the four suspects along with the seized items will be referred to the judicial police's International Anti-Theft Bureau for further interrogations.

A license plate punching machine is priced at $35 and each plate costs $2. The machine and plates could be purchased by any person, anywhere.
I have punched my license plates myself, and have two spare in my trunk !!!
How could a human being be specialized in faking license plates, when these could be acquired anywhere?
Good writing @trust, you are spot on correct, on legal number plates, but the story is about a gang that works on fake number plates, and that does cause worries. I remember a couple of years ago, ex-minister Charbel talking of number plates using some kind of advance digitally trackable number plates, like the ones in the UAE and Singapore, good idea it was, but it never saw the light.

M.F.? I know so many of those, besides aren't all criminals MFs.
