Bassil Meets al-Rahi: Bkirki Charter Serves as Basis for Dialogue

Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil hailed on Thursday the Bkirki charter, noting that it garnered the approval of all political powers.

He said: “The charter should serve as the main basis for dialogue and openness between the Lebanese people.”

He made his remarks after holding talks with Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi at Bkirki.

Bassil added: “I visited the patriarch to receive his blessing after my appointment as foreign minister.”

Assuming this position is a national duty as is work at any ministry, which should rise above personal goals, he continued.

Launched by al-Rahi earlier in February, the Bkirki Charter calls for staging the presidential elections on time and adhering to Lebanese national principles in order to save the country from dangers threatening it.

"Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil hailed on Thursday the Bkirki charter, noting that it garnered the approval of all political powers." I do not believe the Hizb accepted the Bkirke declaration.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that Lebanon's Foreign Minister is once again a Syrio-Iranian puppet? So first the Lebanese people were robbed blind (1.2 billion U.S. Dollars for a project that provides less electricity than its 400 million equivalent in Brittany, France), and now the thief and his father-in-law are going to go out and tell the world that all Lebanese are like them? Wén 7a tikhlas hil maskhara?
