Army Foils Attempt to Smuggle Wanted Suspect in Tripoli
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe army detained on Sunday a wanted suspect in al-Mankoubeen area in the northern city of Tripoli after an attempt by some residents to smuggle him.
According to the state-run National News Agency, a quarrel occurred between the army and a wanted suspect on the international highway in al-Badawi, which links Tripoli with the northern district of Akkar and the Syrian border.
The NNA said that the army exchanged fire with Khaled Sferjalani, who is also known as Abou Awad, during his arrest.
Several people gathered in the area in an attempt to smuggle the wanted suspect, blocking the two lanes of the road.
The matter prompted the army to open fire and forcefully open the road and arrest the wanted suspect by using light arms and an Energa-type grenade .
Additional reinforcements, including tanks and the army's personnel carriers, arrived at the scene.
No need to ask the religion of the arrested guy or why ali eid is not being arrested...
Cedre my friend
If you truly are a nationalist, you wouldn't have posted such a comment.
When the people try to smuggle known terrorist, whoever they are, they are as much guilty as that person, no matter who they are.
You just shoed yourself being a secterion hater
I love that the army is asserting its authority. only the shi3a and aliwite areas are left.
sorry to sound sectarian, but we live in a sectarian country, and these are the facts on the ground... the only areas the army cannot go against the residents in, are shia areas. period. if u r christian, sunni, or druze, and u r a wanted criminal, the authorities will walk in your house and get u!
only in da7yi, b2a3, south, jabal mohsin, etc, do criminals enjoy a "non extradition" loophole.
also I forgot the palestinian camps. why sre we still not allowed to go in the camps??!!
its a mess wallah. but enough is enough. its time for the army to go and arresr every single wanted person no matter where he is from!
