Report: Hizbullah Will Not Attend All-Party Talks over Rift with Suleiman
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةHizbullah will not attend the national dialogue session set to be held on March 31 at the Baabda Palace, local newspapers reported on Saturday.
A Hizbullah source hinted in comments published in al-Liwaa newspaper that the party prefers to participate in a session headed by a new president other than Michel Suleiman.
“What is the need to resume dialogue over the state's national defense strategy as long as the resistance is wooden,” the source pointed out.
The rift increased recently between the President and Hizbullah after Suleiman described the people-army-resistance formula as "wooden" during a speech at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in February.
Suleiman's comments had angered Hizbullah, accusing him of not being able to differentiate between “what's golden and what's wooden."
Informed sources told al-Joumhouria newspaper that Hizbullah is mulling Suleiman's all-party talks invitation.
The sources noted that the rift between the party and Suleiman's over the role of the resistance enraged Hizbullah's leadership.
The sources revealed that Suleiman's invitation didn't include any necessity to confirm the participation in the upcoming session.
The presidency issued on Friday invitations to the concerned political parties to resume the national dialogue on March 31 to continue discussions on a national defense strategy.
The invitations were sent in light of parliament granting the new government its vote of confidence on Thursday.
The last session was held on September 20, 2012.
On Friday, Suleiman lashed out at the resistance in comments published in al-Joumhouria newspaper.
He said that the resistance overstepped the power given to it when it decided to engage in battles in the neighboring country Syria.
these people have no regard for the republic, the president, the army, the institutions, justice or any form of civility.
this has nothing to do with our president :)
this has to do with delaying any discussion in order to gain time.
waiting for a new president means this will be delayed for over 6 months :)
these guys do not want any discussion regarding their weapons: this is an extremist terrorist Iranian militia.
FT, beware of the "source" talking to "al-liwaa" (a anti-HA newspaper, that was repeatedly charged with defaming the president, the prime minister and for sectarian incitement http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Liwaa )
if the source wasn't our reference "HA guy smooking a narguileh on a bekaa terrace" it can't be too credible.
geagea's boycott is for respect of Baabda declaration, HizbIran boycott is because they dont want to respect Baabda declaration that they signed, showing how reliable they are...
yep, it's not in their habits to turn down talks, despite what m14 media propaganda want to portray. we'll see when the talks happen, if they are there or not.
The terror party once again demonstrates its arrogance and delusion. The national dialogue is between the lebanese parties in order to find common ground on how we can stay as one nation. This is not a personal issue nor a family feud....
I don't believe for one minute these HA are lebanese; they follow a pure Iranian agenda and could care less about Lebanon.
Who gives a damn about those Iranian servants! This group is a huge curse to our country.
you can take the man out of the village, but you can never take the village out of the man. It shows
That doesn't compute, why would Iranians be involved in "all party" talks? Let's invite The Martians and Cylons too, that will complete the circle.
Poor Karim...such sad psychological splitting you have, no better argument from an Iranian implant because you can't do any better then blame KSA or Israel...tool.
Who cares, the Iranian militia is tool of the Ayatollah's & the Assad's. They have shown their traitorous colors for everyone to see.
Too late Mr. President...
What a sudden and late wake-up call to our dear president!!! He knows that history will not bother talk about his term as president, so he decided in the last couple of months remaining to open up his mouth and start uttering nonsense after nonsense, given the little he can do to implement actions to back up his opinion. Dear Mr. President (note the capital "P" this time), you should have said all that when you were elected, and you would have a much bigger chance to implement a defense strategy and to get Hezbollah to surrender its weapons to the Lebanese army, and the dialogue would have been on how to restore the Lebanese economy., education, urban planning and retain our young generations from emigrating.
Too late Mr. President...
I love how Hezbollah supporters here always criticized those who refused dialogue...
lol full-disclosure, + HA *allegedly* refused this dialogue, according to a "source" talking to anti-HA papers.
i question the credibility of that claim, and until those talks happen, and we see whether HA participates or not, the said claims are not worth the paper they are written on.
they are absolultly a desease in lebanon they are a cancer in the country who need them
dont know, same weather as south lebanon i would say.
Why ? trying to be funny FD ? Defending ur boyfriend karimo ?
Hizbullah will not attend the national dialogue session set to be held on March 31 at the Baabda Palace,
of course! how can they attend this while doing the total opposite of what is required from patriots?
filthy iranin militia supported by antilebanese and prosyrian traitors!
When is this cancer going to get the hell of our country and move to Khomeini land. Maybe Khomeini land will provide them with jobs and development. Or maybe not.....that's why most of hizaballah supporters and their families work in arab speaking countries while at the same time they curse everything about the gulf states...the gulf states owe everyone of them.....when hafez assad was alive he knew that to remain in power he needed to be arab first before being a Khomeini...he always paid his dues first to arab countries unlike his son bashar...bashar sold his arab honor to a nation that burn his country down through affiliation. This affiliation enraged his local streets.
As long as Hezbollah is prosecuting a war in Tripoli, of course there is no purpose in their attending the all party talks on a Defense Policy. There may be embarrassing questions about why Hezbollah is resisting Israel by fighting Sunni's in Tripoli.
so? ever heard of yalta or realpolitik ?
ksa is allied to us, uk,france, china, morocco, lebanon, etc...
It is not a rogue state like ur beloved unislamic republic where u're oppressed and killed for being sunni...
Now can u explain that video of NasrIran admitting he's an israeli borderguard ?
gotta love cedre's links. i wonder what he thinks they prove lol
to me all they prove is that assad and nasrallah agree that if israel withdraws, releases all prisoners and stops threatening us, they will be ready to negotiate terms of normal relations
as for the tfeh-yli, who cares what he says, he's just a guy who got kicked out from HA and is now taking bribes to talk against it.
Always an excuse for not being part of the dialogue. If it's not M14, it's Geagea specifically. If it's not Geagea, it's the president. If it's not the president, it's some future excuse. Simply put, they act like a state within a state and sellouts team up with them for their own benefit. Traitors!
And you are Kawmi Souri that praise Syria first and foremost.
Allah Yghamek lal za3eem taba3ak.
How can he be both a Zionist and Saudi puppet? Which one is he, for opposing the Party of God?? So is Nessrallah is the God, or Khomeini?
