Israeli Army Kidnaps 5 Lebanese from Shebaa

The Israeli army kidnapped on Thursday five Lebanese, including 2 women and a child, from Lebanese territories in the South.

The kidnapping occurred in the farm of Bastara after a unit crossed the technical fence, said the army in a statement.

It identified the two men as Shebaa shepherds Hassan Zahra and his brother Ismail Zahra.

The two women are Nuhad Awad and Wafaa Ali Moussa while the child's name is Wouroud Hussein Zahra, it said.

The women were detained after they attempted to thwart the kidnapping, but Israel later released them, stated the army communique.

The Lebanese army and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon held contacts to secure the freedom of the two men.

Israel occasionally kidnaps shepherds, claiming they were in Israeli territories.

But it later sets them free after questioning them.

Wallaw Phoenix, I thought you and the rest of your Gang want a strong Army that can defend and protect all its citizens, now you want the resistance... come on Phoenix the Army and the UNIFIL are on the border who gave them the order to stand Idle as our citizens are kidnapped, and lets assume as you want the Resistance tried to repel the Kidnapping and killed those occupation soldiers and it ended in an all out War like Israel want, who are you going to blame for a war the resistance yes or not, and be honest in your response and this goes for all those that want a strong army and want a resistance that is disarmed?????

Girgi, come on man, I was being funny, Hammouds, walaw, can't take a joke? But I am 101% with our army, so I'll say as Karim does, God bless the Lebanese Army. Good, OK, now, where's the resistance?

Missing VINCENT 18 April 2014, 02:29

George: Very simple. Let all Lebanese unite and incorporate its forces under one legitimate Nation and sanctioned army. Most likely, the current Lebanese Army would be considered a joke vis-a-vis its counter part in Israel. But together, I think you get the point.

First thing comes to mind in terms of Israel's motive for doing so is that they are suspected of being HA operatives and they want to interrogate them. The second thing is that they are HA informants working with the Mossad and they capture them for a while to debrief them. Either way the State needs to rise, the LAF need to exert control and our borders sanctity must be respected by friends and foes alike. Enough of this helplessness free for all within and along our borders.

The army is not well equipped or ready to protect the border, and Hezbollah only defends a threat against them and their agendy not a farmer. That's why they were kidnapped.

Can't we just condemn this act without having to excessively politicize this issue? The kidnapping is wrong whether the kidnapper is Hezbollah or Israel or Assad or batikh.

Wont be long, before a new war approaches.
