The Lebanese government has been reportedly cautioned by several countries to control the situation in southern Lebanon after another rocket attack rocked northern Israel for the fourth consecutive day.

A rocket fired from Lebanese territory hit northern Israel on Monday night, the Israeli army said. There were similar attacks in the past four days.

An Nahar said several countries advised the government to contain the incidents although it expressed understanding that neither it nor Hizbullah were involved in the attacks.

The Israeli army said it responded to Monday's attack with artillery fire "towards the launching site" of the rocket.

But the Lebanese army said that two rockets had been fired from the Lebanese village of al-Qlayleh towards northern Israel.

He also said some 60 shells were launched from Israel towards the orchards surrounding al-Qlayleh, from where the rockets had been fired.

The security source added that four shells launched by Israel hit an area near the Rashidiyeh Palestinian camp, located some two kilometers away from al-Qlayleh.

Rockets were fired from Lebanon at northern Israel early Monday after similar attacks on Friday and Saturday.
