March 14: Hizbullah is in a State of Confusion over Syria

March 14 general-secretariat coordinator Fares Soaid said Wednesday that Hizbullah is in a crisis and would put itself in a confrontation with the whole world if it continues to support the Assad regime.

“The Syrian regime is choking,” Soaid told LBC TV network. “The international community is sending signals that the regime in Syria has collapsed.”

It will not be able to adapt to the next stage, the March 14 official said.

Turning to the Syrian regime’s ally Hizbullah, Soaid told LBC that the Shiite party is in a state of “confusion and trouble.”

“If the party continues to stick itself fully to the Syrian regime and confront the revolution, it means it has taken the decision to confront the whole world,” he said.

“Such a move not only puts the party in the circle of accusation but also Lebanon as a whole,” Soaid added.

Thank-you for your kind analysis mister soaid. Nothing new though, this 'resistance' is actually going against what the iranian foreign minister said when he declared that Assad had to step down... It's an interesting turn...

at least march 14 is not in confusion about syria nor lebanon.
there is nothing confusing in their treason and meddling into another state.

"Chocking"?? The Syrian regime is "chocking". And here I thought it was choking over the blood of its own people that it keeps spilling.

The collapse of the Assad Regime in Syria will mean big problems for us in Lebanon. Hezbollah sustained itself in Lebanon through strategic depth achieved by the support it got from the Assad Regime. When that regime crashes and burns, then Hezbollah will have to hold itself in Lebanon by digging its roots deeper and deeper into the Lebanese state, culture and institutions.

And when that happens, expect Israel to come up and root it out before it gets too deep. The asymmetrical advantage of Iran being on Israel's northern border while Israel is no where deployed on the Iranian border has been tolerable since 2005 since there have been restraints on Hezbollah. But when Hezbollah digs in and all restraints are off, expect Israel to come in to end this 6 year period where Iranian enjoyed the strategic advantage over Israel.

Hizbullah is in a state of confusion over Syria? When did they become active members of the losers, aka the now-defunct March 14, i.e. al m3alla2in bi 7ibal al hawa

good analysis Beiruti. Finally i read some comments that have dispassioned analysis. However also consider that when they dig in deeper they will have to deal with an empowered Sunni population likely with a newly empowered Sunnie led Syria. A new balance will be created.
