Prime Minister Najib Miqati stated on Monday that Lebanon will tackle the discovery of offshore oil “in the best possible way.”

He told CNN television: “We are trying to create an economic zone and we should respect the rights of others in this matter and they should do the same.”

On the dispute with Israel over the maritime border, he stressed: “We are trying to resolve this issue through diplomatic ways.”

Addressing the internal situation in Lebanon, the premier pointed out that since the formation of the Lebanese government, the number of tourists in Lebanon has increased, noting that tourists arriving in Lebanon this time of year have increased ten percent from 2010.

Miqati added that a “crisis of trust” is plaguing Lebanon’s internal stability, saying that trust should be established among all the Lebanese factions.

“The differences must remain within the constitutional institutions, parliament, cabinet, and not the streets,” he stressed.

Miqati is just another hypocrite arab leader with the same mentality as the dictators in the arab world, including that of rafiq and saadidine hariri. They will tell the western media one thing and then the arab media another thing. They have no real principles, they are all filthy rich and expect to be considered saints if they give away like 0,0000001 % of their wealth to some public project. The money they managed to corrupt their way in to having comes from shady sources and could only be achieved through corruption, theft, arms dealing and other such criminal activities. Its a disgrace that in order to become a PM in lebanon one has to be a billionaire. This is one of the reasons to why we NEVER advance and are always backwards. An honest principled man can never become a PM in lebanon because in order to become one he has to be a billionaire and no lebanese billionaire is honest nor principled. Lebanese never learn. In the name of reform they always choose the same misstakes.
