Lebanese-French Summit in New York Next Week
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةPresident Michel Suleiman is expected to hold talks next week with his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy during his trip to New York, revealed western diplomatic sources to the daily al-Mustaqbal Sunday.
They said that the talks will tackle Lebanon’s obligation to fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
The talks will also address the situation of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, as well as the developments in Syria.
Suleiman is expected to arrive in New York on Monday on three-day visit where he will deliver speech at the U.N.’s 66th General Assembly and later chair a U.N. Security Council session on September 21.
His speech at the Security Council will assert Lebanon’s position on the regional developments, stress its adherence to the Arab peace initiative and importance of the peace process in the region, the Central News Agency reported on Saturday.
“The president will stress the importance of recognizing a Palestinian state and Lebanon’s right to preserve its national natural resources and oil,” high-ranking sources told the news agency.
Suleiman will stress, during his speech entitled “Preventive Diplomacy,” on the importance of diplomacy to avoid conflicts, its role in preventing its recurrence, and Lebanon’s experience in this field.
The sources revealed that the president is expected to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani during his New York visit.
He will also hold talks with the heads of state of Slovenia and Serbia.
Sleiman
You are corrupted!
You, your son in law wissam baroudi, your brother Antoine, governor of Mount Lebanon who makes a fortune out of the rock carriers by taxing them for his personal benefit. You confiscated 350 car plates (3&4 numbers) that you distribute freely to your friends and political allies, and to those now serving your son in law! Corrupted thug!
Thank you for the info Patriot! I would nt be surprised if all what you re saying is true. This to compare with Beshir Gemayel who died very modest means, (and even refused a prestigious car offered to him, everyone in those days knew the story) and Elias Sarkis who died penniless. See the Glorious Lahoud, Hraoui, and now possibly Suleiman... amassing large sums of money, way above his 2000 or 3000 $ monthly pay as a general (that is not to mention all the pupetts at the Hizb, rising very quickly from shanty town squatters to Merck cars and 5 bedroom luxury appartments !) The lunatic in Rabyieh too has done well for himself and his failed son-in-law! So those who keep accusing the M14 camp of corruption should rather shut up, corruption is not to be found in one camp!
@Truth
I cannot give any hints about the source, but you would be surprised. I can also tell u about a banker friend of mine who manages an account in the name of Mme Aoun with 230M$ in London ... Well that was last year... The worst of them all is Bassil by far. I have a lot of info I cannot spread here, but the damage is HUGE!
I call on the press to investigate on the affairs I mentioned on my previous post and to release the information ASAP!
I can believe most of the things you are stating patriot.People are so naïve, and their cult for individuals, as a mirror of their Self cult makes them blind. I know for a fact too that so much money went as support to this General on his personal account when he was in Paris. And he s still getting a lot of money from various sources, including businessmen who want to protect their interests or set foot in the political arena to protect their business portfolios and polish their image! In a very famous article, released on the 11th may 2009 in Ad Diyar, Charles Ayoub (who incidentally I have very little sympathie for) fired some very heavy shells on the General in an article titled: Michel Aoun the Great Crook, cheats on people and accuses others of crookedness...
This article drew no reaction from the Rabieh squatter. Try to research it. In the early 80 s Ayoub was in the army working under the General supervision.
Aoun is then described by Ayoub as being, and I quote:
- a coward in the battle field citing his behaviour when confronted to raining shells.
- a traitor collaborating with israelis when they occupied west Beirut
- a crook, taking 10M dollars a year from a bsinessman mentioned in the article
- a wimp who feard Amine Gemayel, President then...
etc etc....And that article to my knowledge drew no legal response from Aoun, as Ayoub threatened with more revelations!
One more thing Patriot, I cannot help think of this imBassil, looking to manage billions with no control whatsoever over spending! I think the response of the M14 should be to call on the 2,5M lebanese who support them to stop paying their electricity bills, until everyone pays and all backbills are collected first, and second the so called electricity law is redrafted. For the time being it is the cabinet as a whole who will oversee spending , which means the Hizb is controlling it, and their surrogates in power. And everyone knows that when it s everybody, that means nobody, expect the imBassil in the driving seat!
@Truth
Are u refering to Sehnaoui or Chaghoury! They r well knowned... they r also free to waist their money anyway they wish!
the patriot, since you are so well connected and feel talkative these days, why don't you also disclose information on what Rafik Hariri stole from Lebanese?
We wouldn't be taking about a few car plates (although in no way I justify what Suleiman would be doing if indeed true) we would be talking of several billions...
@moonsear
I am sure hariri stole money, he was not clean, but if you have smthing regarding the matter be my guest! I condemn Hariri untill 2005. But remember that his allies at the time, are your allies today!
