FSA Urges Lebanese Government to Release Col. Rifai

The Free Syrian Army urged on Monday the Lebanese government to release the head of FSA command council, Colonel Abdullah Rifai, who was arrested a day earlier on the eastern border with Syria.

FSA also said the “Lebanese army is not our enemy.”

The army said Sunday that Rifai was arrested at a military checkpoint in Wadi Hmeid on the outskirts of the northeastern town of Arsal.

Rifai was trying to infiltrate Syrian territories with the assistance of Lebanese Khaled Haydar al-Hujairi in a pickup truck, it said.

The suspect had a forged Lebanese identify card and admitted to belonging to an armed Syrian organization, the communique added.

The Free Syrian Army is the Western-backed moderate group fighting to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad.

With don't have a problem with the FSA either so release our kidnapped soldiers and servicemen in return.

Missing mohammad_ca 10 November 2014, 16:39

the FSA doesn't have any kidnapped soldiers, they do have hizbollaat terrorists though.

Thumb _mowaten_ 10 November 2014, 15:16

the FSA works hand in hand with nusra and ISIS, that "colonel" surely has a lot of stories to share..

You beat me to it mowaten. I was thinking the same thing, exactly the same! We are so so similar: we are both narcissists, both shia extremists who pretend to be moderates, both have an inferiority complex, both pretend to be secular, and both have multiple accounts. I just hope readers don't think we are the same poster.

just one example among many:
"The F.S.A., it turned out, had given me to the Nusra Front, or Jebhat al Nusra, which was using the Children’s Hospital in Aleppo as a headquarters and a prison. "

Upon entering a mosque, all males over 13 were to repent. Good Muslims, the group decreed, should have battled the Nusra Front while it ruled the province. If the males of the province repented, they might carry on as before. But if they refused or if the Islamic State deemed their repentance insincere, they could be killed. Nusra Front fighters were to be shot on sight. ---- From the same article Mouwaten...

True FSA are our only friend in Syria. But FSA have to stop the adventures of Nosra in arsal and get them to immediately release the kidnapped soldiers.

We have to focus on rass el 7ayyeh. The baathist regime.

Thumb -phoenix1 10 November 2014, 17:55

LF, I urge you to give up on the illusion that we could have friends in Syria, truth is that we Lebanese have NO friends there, be they pro-Regime or Anti-Regime, they all are the same. Leave that fallacy behind as it is gravest type.

Thumb lebanon_first 10 November 2014, 18:12

Phoenix. You are right. We have no friends. But we have various degrees of ennemity.

The entity that desires the most harm to lebanon is the Baath with Assad.
Then there is Nosra which strayed and attacked our glorious army.
Then there is the FSA with whom we are not really ennemies, but true, not really friends.

(I keep daesh out of this because it is a temporary killing entity with no popular support and no depth that is bound to disappear in a couple of years.)

Missing mohammad_ca 10 November 2014, 16:38

yet hizbollaat roams freely in lebanon?

Thumb -phoenix1 10 November 2014, 17:53

@mohammad_ca, Hezbollah is Lebanese, the FSA is NOT, so I see no reason why you're comparing the two. NB: Even though I strongly disagree with HA.

Thumb ex-fpm 10 November 2014, 18:03

HA is NOT lebanese

Missing mohammad_ca 10 November 2014, 20:30

so a lebanese terrorist is OK but a foreign one isn't?? Besides FSA has not been classified as terrorists except by the ASSad regime.

Missing mohammad_ca 10 November 2014, 16:38

FSA? since when?

Missing mohammad_ca 10 November 2014, 20:24

stop making stuff up, when did the FSA kidnap Lebanese military?

Thumb Mystic 10 November 2014, 17:23

Didn't most of you M14 guys claim, that FSA are moderates? I hope you were joking.

Thumb lebanon_first 10 November 2014, 18:14

Au pays des aveugles, les borgnes sont rois.

Missing mohammad_ca 10 November 2014, 20:25

what did FSA do to not be moderate?

Missing mohammad_ca 10 November 2014, 20:25

The funny thing is a hizbollaat supporter is talking about moderation.

visiting his wife. If you read you will learn a lot. He was not disguised as some paid posters seem to indicate.

Thumb the_roar 10 November 2014, 18:29

FSA? how do people still call fighters from all over the globe free "Syrian" army ???

never knew chechens etc were considered Syrians all of a sudden.

FSA swore allegiance to al qaida, nusra from day one yet m14ers still call them friends & peaceful protesters ....oh well.

Default-user-icon dezabro (Guest) 10 November 2014, 19:02

lol @defacto this is so true

Thumb kanaandian 11 November 2014, 06:12

Use him as a bargaining chip to free the abducted military personnel. The Free Syrian Islamists are openly cooperating with Jabat al Nusra and other filth so they should have some leverage over them.

Let's just say that many Lebanese Sunnis and M14 members who are supportive of the Lebanese army against extremists (Takfiris, ISIL, etc.) would be very upset if this FSA member was harmed and/or not released since they support the FSA mostly.
