Riachi Says Dialogue with FPM on Right Track

Lebanese Forces official Melhem Riachi stressed on Tuesday that dialogue with the Free Patriotic Movement is on the right track, pointing out that negotiations are based on fixed principles.

“The meetings will not be folkloric,” Riachi said in comments published in the pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat.

The LF official stressed that the two parties are “seeking to open a new page away from the past differences.”

“We are almost done with the first stage of talks that is paving the way for a meeting between the LF chief (Samir Geagea) and FPM leader (Michel Aoun),” Riachi added.

The official considered the presidential election as “part of the understanding” between the two parties.

The rivalry between Aoun and Geagea has left the Baabda Palace vacant. Lebanon has been without a head of state since President Michel Suleiman's six-year term ended in May.

An Nahar newspaper reported that the draft paper of the understanding between the two parties is awaiting for Geagea to review the comments of Aoun.

The LF chief traveled on February 2 on a private visit to Europe.

Riachi is a young naive and has no idea of the caporal traitor Who is tied forever by the money received from Ebola and Iran.

Geagea is a repented criminal (like the thieve on the cross); but the Caporal is a patriot who has become a corrupt and a traitor destroying the Christians.

two mafiosi dialoguing.... how to share the cake together it means....

Even if Geagea was accused of whatever crimes, today he is repented. According to Christian faith (whether accusations were right or false) his sins are forgiven and he is clean in the face of God.
But the true traitor is the Caporal who is PRESENTLY destroying the Christians.
Consequently, any Christian following the traitor Caporal is himself a traitor.

Humble. How do you know he has repented? Only he and God knows if he has repented! As for you declaring all people that would vote for the FPM are traitors... John 8:7 "he without sin, cast the first stone" :)

As long as people from both sides are not slaughtering each other, as long as the voice of reason is higher than the sound of rockets, I think we should hope that this will lead to cooling hot headed stubborn politicians from all sects. Still people have to get whst is their right and live in dignity.

lebnanwobass... stating that "christians would be in a great position today" if it we had more leaders like Geagea is a sad joke! He is the reason for all the christian deprived position in Lebanese politics thanks to his acceptance of the team accord which is also the reason we have no president and that Lebanese politics is in constant need of a foreign power to decide our fate! The team accord enforced a political neutral power! no one can decide and the 3 "presidents" are constantly fighting for control! No functioning political system has such obvious flaws! The PM can't be sacked, the speaker of parliament can't be removed and the president of the republic has little power and can't be elected! It wasn't always like this ya Lebnanwobass!!

Inaccurate depiction, the following is the exact truth:
Aoun's insistence that he will be the President or no one else (along with M8 colluding to boycott Parliament session to elect one) is what left the Baabda Palace vacant.
