Report: Iran Cuts Back on Financial Support for Hizbullah

Iran has informed Hizbullah that it would have to cut down its yearly financial support for the party, informed Gulf sources told the Kuwaiti al-Qabas newspaper on Wednesday.
The sources estimated that Tehran sends annually 350 million dollars to Hizbullah. That amount is spent on the salaries of party members, the families of martyrs and the group’s projects in the South, the Bekaa and Beirut’s southern suburbs, they told the daily.
The sources said the cut would come after Iran increased its financial support for the Syrian regime to help it confront the financial and economic crisis that erupted after the political uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad in March.
The cut back also comes against the backdrop of international sanctions against the Iranian government, they added.
But Hizbullah is seeking to garner the financial support of Gulf traders to compensate for the losses incurred over Tehran’s decision, the sources told al-Qabas.
Security agencies at a Gulf country questioned at least one trader after suspecting that he was making financial contributions to Hizbullah, they said.

@Fadi: Iran is one of the world's largest oil producers and they still import oil. In fact this year they increased the importing of oil, their oil production still hasn't reached pre revolution levels.
It's been over 22 years since the Islamic revolution and they still can't get oil production back to normal levels. The country is so badly managed that I do believe 350 million dollars does matter to them. Yet they continue to fund groups outside their country and waste their money on spreading their politics in the middle east rather than helping the poor and starving within Iran.

Sources? My sources say that Israel sucks the blood of US citizens by the billions of US dollars every year while the US citizens are homeless, jobless and hopeless.
