Aoun Describes Saudi Offensive against Yemen as 'Illegal'
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةFree Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun deemed as “illegal” the military offensive led by Saudi Arabia against Yemen's Huthi rebels, reported As Safir newspaper on Wednesday.
The charters of the United Nations and Arab League prohibit the foreign intervention of one country in the affairs of the other, he remarked during Tuesday's weekly Change and Reform bloc meeting.
The Saudi war on Yemen is therefore illegal according to international law, explained the MP.
Furthermore, Aoun criticized the Arab “confusion” over Yemen, as well as the double standards adopted by some of these countries in addressing the developments in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen.
He noted that based on his military experience, the airstrikes on Yemen will not yield results on the ground, citing Israel's war against Hizbullah in 2006 as an example of this.
Saudi Arabia launched last week airstrikes against Yemen's Huthi rebels in an attempt to restore the country's sovereignty.
An Arab League summit over the weekend endorsed the operation, saying that they will continue until legitimacy is restored in the country.

I follow the rule of law, you know, like any normal citizen..is vilayet-e-faqih dictating when you go to war and when not to legal?
What he actully need is suitable jacket and rest, I am sure there will make one that fit him, rage moments with nedics close to him will be enough, medications are not doing him any good plus it is, too late to administer heavy doses of any radical medication it won't seeve any purpose.
What bothers you most geha? The fact that he dares call a cat a cat, or the fact that he dares speak up against your brutal saudi masters?
The war on Yemen is by all standards illegal, it is a war of aggression only motivated by KSA's intention to dominate and control another sovereign nation.
Consider this for a second: what would have been your reaction if Iran had invaded Bahrein when they brutally and bloodily cracked down on the protesters?
and why are you so hot and bothered about Yemen mowaten? Is it because you are shia follower of khamanei or is it because it is in Lebanon's interest?
Maybe you need to interpret everything in sectarian terms eagleyawn, and maybe you only care when it's about your own (chosen?) people that is concerned, but not everybody is like you.
Maybe your sectarianism is why you abstained from condemning everything that happened in Maaloula, Kobbane, Mossul, Dahiyeh, Gaza, Arsal, Yemen...
But as you certainly noticed since you like to record my comments, I didnt.
the iranian mouthpiece never answers a question and uses his canned ready made propaganda last resort training. Why are you so concerned with what is happening in Yemen? Is it because you are a shia follower of Khamanei or is it because it is in Lebanon's interests to do so and how?
and are you saying the KSA intervened in Yemen against yet another oppressed unarmed houthi uprising against a tyrant regime. LOL
Don't cr t when you're friends and family come back from the Gulf, Iran is always, ready to employ them I guess.
Don't cry when you're friends and family come back from the Gulf, Iran is always, ready to employ them I guess.
"freedomarch" promoting slavery to barbaric rulers for a few pennies... is that your conception of freedom?
Don't worry though, the Najdi Bedouins are about to make their final mistake and Yemenis are about to make minced meat of their zombies in shiny US-made equipment.
Hassan Nasrallah? Maybe editors should change the title of this article along with the picture.
but hizbollaat and iran's involvement in Syria and Yemen is perfectly legal right? (Why was this comment deleted?)
because this is an article about aoun, so flamethrower aka the_roar will not allow you to criticize his idol.
His boycotting of the presidential elections is legal.
The terror party's massacres in Syria are legal.
May7th is legal.
Iran's arming of the Houthis is legal.
The Iranian presence with thousands of sectarian terrorists in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, and Eritrea is Legal.
The Iranian takeover of the Emirati Islands is Legal.
Hariri should go on one way ticket is Legal.
A better word is: Aoun, your existence in its entirety is illegal and a disgrace to humanity.
The charters of the United Nations and Arab League prohibit the foreign intervention of one country in the affairs of the other, he remarked during Tuesday's weekly Change and Reform bloc meeting.
You are an ally of Syria and Iran and you admit that openly. Is Syria interfering in Lebanon's affairs when it sends Smaha with explosives to blow up the Batrak in Tripoli? Do you consider hezbollah intervention in Syria legal and not foreign and in accordance with the charter of the Arab league?
When your ally nassrallah attacks Bahraini leaders is that also not interfering in other countries affairs?! Even a traitor has conscience and remorse. You don't!
As a Shia follower of Khomeini I will forgive & pray for those who insult my Lords, Sayyid Hassan Nassrallah, Sheikh Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and President Bashar Al Assad.
I think he's just joking, it's April 1.
BTW, my April Fools joke got deleted..... why?

No more proof is needed to show that he is the dog of Ebola and Iran and that he is paid for doing that.
bombing another country is perfectly legal, if you have the americans on your side. if not, well, tough luck.
dropping barrel bombs and gassing your own people is also a crime but you support it .....double standards or brainwashing...which one is it southern?
btw, merci la france pour les armes ou bien c etait 1 poisson d 'avril
vive la liberte
it is perfectly legal ..the president of Yemen asked for the military intervention. But the senile general has to say something to keep his masters in Tehran happy otherwise his next pay chq will not arrive.
Really? Please show me where exactly I did that.
Unless it's just part of your routine of empty accusations and slander.
Our cutie here, tries to play rough. Too bad this is Naharnet and not face to face discussions.
@Mystic:
Your call for dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution reminds me of the late Great Gracious Mahatma Gandhi.
Great job Gen Aoun.
You people said he was kissing the Saudis hands, not really so yeah?
do you ever take a break from this forum? Do you ever get busy? Do you make a living?
Southern of Iran, Remind your filthy self ... Arab countries are non of Iran's Business. If iran thought it can control countries wuthout arabic response it is their problem. AOUN, your stakes are high with Aounis working in the Gulf, good for you and them Iran. BY THE WAY defending ourselves is 100% legal ya wati ta Aoun if Iran.
Perfectly your houthi problem when hiding intentionally among civilians within cities with anti aircraft guns. That is the crowd criminals of houthis.
MY STIC, you mean to say Grave job Gen Aoun.
He is nit kissing Saudi s hands Iranian hands you ignirant M14, what a joke.
MY STIC, you mean to say Grave job Gen Aoun.
He is not kissing Saudi hands.... Iranian hands you ignorant M14..., what a joke.
You are desperate because of the fact, that despite countless Saudi bombings, the Ansarallah manages to advance forward even still.
Despite Saudis superior firepower, the Ansarallah can't be broken. They will continue their struggle and even provide counter attacks as we've seen.
Now that is a notion of honor, unlike the corrupted Wahabis, that thought victory can be bought with dollars.
@Mystic:
I don't know but here is something about you that reminds me of Sayyed Hassan. Your poise, wisdom and ability to cope with stress are exemplary.
Do you prefer the buzzing sounds of streaming F-15 eagles or the deafening sounds of Typhoon FGR4's.
Air strike sometimes gives result as it gave when syrians did by their planes on Baabda and let the General to run away to France.illegal act but this is legal because the Yemeny goverment wanted help.
Lemme get this straight, so someone at the Change and Reform bloc meeting leaked this tidbit to AsSafir. I think that should be the story here. Aoun in not known for his shininess and if wanted a conversation he said in the confines of this block's meeting to come out in the open he would have done it himself or at least made it part of Jreisati's statement yesterday. I guess that's expected when you surround yourself with keepsakes who's loyaties lie with Hassan, Bashar, Hardane, Qanso etc
"The charters of the United Nations and Arab League prohibit the foreign intervention of one country in the affairs of the other", he remarked during Tuesday's weekly Change and Reform bloc meeting.
Finally, Aoun sees the light. Iran now must dismantle its Hezbollah operations in Lebanon, as that is "foreign intervention of one country into the affairs of the other"
Hezbollah should pull out of Syria, because that is "foreign intervention of one country into the affairs of the other".
Look at him he's so beautiful typing away feverishly, my wonderful bigQAWMIjohn smiting my enemies with memorized politico babble like no one else. His kind are the best. Christian QAWMIS had our back against the Christian Zionists of east Beirut and the so called free regions.
By by gone, so after peple asked if you have life, you calmly switched to a different acount to entertain us here. IRANIAN soap opera stile. With so many words that include: arab, oil, Ksa, Shiits, sectarian, muslins, Long ago, responsible for, catastrophy. What a pleasure reading you invaluable post. Mam.
Was it legal when Hizb Iran invaded Beirut and deputy houses and killed 100s of citizens? Was it legal when houthis overthrew the government ?
Sounds is just another Iranian agent . As an Arab you should stand with Arab countries not Iranians !!
Was it legal for hizb Iran to I terfere in Yemen , Iraq and Syria ? What a retarded bozo
Don't worry about it, that's a fake heard. Just a shell, Aoun's original head contents were lost some time ago. That glue is actually Mullas strong hold brand, iranian first cycle hairy nose products, botteled and blessed and signed by kahminai himself. The pride of islamic iran.

LOL, I love it.. Every time Aoun speaks, the lifeless slave trolls on here get a brain tumor and seizure all at once, and start spewing crap left and right haha. Get over it
yeah LOL... strange Aoun did not speak when the Iranians said they control 4 Arab Capitals: Sanaa, Baghdad, Beirut and Damascus. Strange Aoun did not speak when Khamanei's advisor said Iran is at Israel's border and the mediterranean through south Lebanon. He did not speak because those actions were LEGAL.
