Ibrahim Says National Security Requires Comprehensive Strategy
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةGeneral Security chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim stressed on Tuesday that achieving national security begins from creating a comprehensive strategy.
“The strategy should take into consideration the latest regional and international challenges,” he told the General Security magazine in its latest issue.
Ibrahim pointed out that priority is to fortify the Lebanese security forces amid the fast changing global policies.
The security official remarked that the rising security challenges could only be confronted through the competent apparatuses, saying: “Any attempts to resolve terror threats or any other security situation through (politics) would lead to instability.”
“It's not enough to warn people from slipping into terrorism or giving up to violence, but we should convince them with it by drying the sources of attraction,” Ibrahim said.
He said that the social and economic security are linked, pointing out that “social security boosts stability and peace within the factions of the country... which enhances civil peace and safeguards the nation.”
