Aoun Meets Syrian Youth Delegation, Says Violence Leads to Failure

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun said on Saturday that the Syrian people will be able to arise from the crisis stronger than before, stressing that violence will lead to failure.

“The country that uses violence and not take the path of dialogue will not succeed,” Aoun said during a meeting with a Syrian youth delegation in Rabieh.

He urged the Syrian president Bashar Assad to implement reforms “swiftly.”

Aoun stressed that the “(Syrian) people will carry on with the democratic process” soon after the reforms are implemented by the regime without any painful or bloody incidents.

The MP hit back at those who are “supporting these incidents,” saying “they have bad intentions.”

U.N. human rights Chief Navi Pillay said that the toll from seven months of violence in Syria had risen above 3,000. She said Syria risked "a full-blown civil war" unless the international community took action.

Aoun says that "violence leads to failure". Well, he should know. And given this statement, one must wonder about his alliance with the most violent element in Lebanon today, Hezbollah. Maybe Aoun will be a prophet rather than a president.

I think you forgot about what happened in Beirut a few years ago. Your good friends used weapons against their own people to protect their phone network...

His audience is now reduced to syrian teenagers, next he'll be talking to the kindergarten in damascus.
Way to go General, you're definitely on the right track!

"violence leads to failure"? The Hezz are failing and you and them together have only been able to pass a no smoking law, and an electricity money theft plan.

The best thing that could come out of the syrian revolution is the fact that history will remember your words, and the people of syria will along with their new leadership.

Where will you run away to this time? (and don't leave your wife and kids again, that's just shameful)

General Aoun you're a disgrace to every soul who was martyred fighting for your cause against Hafez Al Assad's militia.

I hope that you watched the videos coming out from Damascus at the funeral of 9 year old Ibrahim Shayban, we were over 100,000 people in one neighborhood alone. Watch this video if you don't believe me

If this guy has a shred of dignity he should go home and drink tea and let us alone. He's sick and so old he should have retired a long long time ago. he's is also a man of double standards and is not to be trusted.
