The army announced on Monday the arrest of two Lebanese on terrorism charges.

It said in a statement that Army Intelligence arrested late on Saturday Mohammed Ojail and Hassan al-Dghaily for forming a terrorist cell in the region of Sharhabeel east of the southern city of Sidon.

A large number of weapons, ammunition, hand grenades, and rocket-propelled grenades were seized from their residence.

They were collecting the arms to use them in terrorist activities, said the military statement.

Investigations are underway with the suspects.
