The Palestinian joint security force dismantled on Thursday a bomb in the southern Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said the bomb was placed in a box in the camp's al-Zeeb neighborhood.

The agency did not specify who could have been the target of the bomb.

But Voice of Lebanon radio (100.5) said the explosive was placed near the office of Fatah official Jamal Awad.

The joint security force has deployed in several of Lebanon's Palestinian refugee camps to clamp down on violence.

By long-standing convention, the Lebanese army does not enter the country's 12 camps, leaving security inside to the Palestinians themselves.

They should go back to their land, same goes for the Syrians, Lebanon has already shouldered a lot more than its fair share. The time is now for them all to leave, and leave for good.
