Geagea Alarmed by 'Resurfacing' of Pro-Syria Group Saeqa
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةLebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Friday criticized the Lebanese officials for failing to disarm Palestinian groups in Lebanon.
Geagea slammed the officials for “not demanding the removal of Palestinian weapons, in line with (the resolutions of) the national dialogue sessions,” noting that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was keen on that more than Lebanon’s officials.
The LF leader voiced alarm over the resurfacing of the pro-Syria Palestinian group Saeqa, which was active during Lebanon’s 1975-1990 civil war, warning that “the organization has resumed its activities.”
“Where is the government? Where are the security agencies that would prosecute a citizen carrying a pistol in the barren mountains while they turn a blind eye to the entry of weapons to some Palestinian organizations that have been rearming?” Geagea lamented.
Speaking to reporters following talks with MP Hadi Hbeish and his father, ex-minister Fawzi Hbeish, Geagea also stressed that “there can be no better living conditions without a real economic cycle, and no real economic cycle without stability and confidence.”
“As long as there are mini-states, as is the case today, let’s not hope to reach a healthy economy,” Geagea added, noting that “we cannot achieve the living conditions we aspire as long as there are arms and a strategic decision outside state control.”
On the other hand, Geagea described Speaker Nabih Berri’s recent dialogue call as insincere, adding that the opposition March 14 camp was “unwilling to engage in such a dialogue, unless we sense that the other camp truly intends to engage in a serious dialogue over the only item still pending on the agenda: Hizbullah’s arms.”
“We have become convinced that we can have no economy, stability or security amid the presence of these weapons,” Geagea went on to say.
There will be many more Dr. Geagea. As ASSad heads down to the dust bin of despotic leaders of history, he will blame everything on Lebanon and with the help of the Hezz cause chaos in Lebanon.
In his mind it is not him who is the problem. He is righteous and good. It is everyone elses fault, especially the son of the one he killed.
That is so sad . I see that Lebanon is on the road to no return, as long as there are armed people from different sects and colours in the land of Milk and Honey . Every one on Lebanese soil is a victim of hope where there is no hope. Every minute for a live Lebanese counts now. The next minute could be life or death. I am so sad to see Lebanon dying by the minute. I will never see my birth land again. LOVE HAS ESCAPED FROM LEBANON AND ONLY LOVE WILL REVIVE IT.
The shallow political aptitude of some Lebanese keeps Lebanon very permeable to the region's problems and provides a theatre for diverting other nations’ conflicts.
When will they wake up?
What can we expect from a government of criminals and traitor. They are simply working for the good of Syria and self wealth. We MUST take control of Lebanon. Time for a real resistance. The palestinians are going to creat havoc at assad orders....
hezbollah wants lebanon to be unstable and doesn t want palestinians to give their arms to the state so that the hezb keeps its arms !
as long as this mafia is in place, lebanon will never be stable nor developped economically...
hezbollah doesn t even care if lebanon is stable or not, they don t give a shit if lebanese live well or not, all they care for is to obey to their masters in tehran and be their watchdog here...
didn t they pledge allegiance to the islamic revolution but never to the state of lebanon?
it is clearer now that the regime in syria is working desperatly to create civil war in lebanon which will lighten the pressure he is under,
i will not worry hakim, bashar is already burning, saeka or hizballah or assem kanso.. they are all the past, dont worry hakim their only success in lebanon is the orangy general and his idiots, nothing more, relax hakim u are on the RIGHT TRACK,JUST WATCH THE MOVIE.
Saeqa was never a group, it was Syrian army in disguise who came in and took over Damour during the civil war!
all 12 camps should be closed and the poor refugees should go to a rich oil arab country like saudieh so they can cater for their needs
and whoever helps or helped armed palestinian to go back to lebanon is a traitor
yes marc they are.. i remember when they came into damour just asif it were yesterday. they slaughtered women and children... they actually stopped us and said they were kataib in the most obvious syrian slang while wearing large wooden crosses..then they were about to execute my uncle, and kicked my grandmother before their superior recognized my family, he had been an undercover working for them in the fields .. yes mark i remember them.. i was 6 years old then.. no matter how bad it is or it will be, it will never be worse than what we have gone through sofar..
Shut the border with Syria and use the sea for an entire year and see the huge difference in peace.
We have never gotten a single good thing from either Israel or Syria. Both envy our Country and intend to swallow a piece of it.
Filthy traitor.....geagea and sfeir had accepted naturalizing 400 000 palestinians in return for 400 000 christians from Iraq and then segregating Lebanon into mini cantons.
Once a traitor to the Republic of Lebanon always a traitor.
Ps. Remember his part was the only party in History to bomb Baabda the Presidential palace helping the Syrians on october 13 1990.
I am Alarmed Since Mr Geagea Left the prison and started to manipulate the people with his sectarian politics...
As for the Saeqa case, if it really exisit, the Lebanse army will handle it...
MrBrain
@Mr Brain, i think you should change your nickname to NOBRAIN, if you really think that the government will give orders do anything about it...
It's obvious now that the Criminal Assad Regime is trying to take advantage of the so called "Arab Intiative" and the free world's seeming pre-occupation with the "Financial crisis" (not that that is morally excusable) to murder more Syrian Civilian Pro-Democracy Protestors in Syria but also is working hard with Hezb Ebola and Iran and their criminal pawns the Palestinian terrorist groups and "undercover" (excuse the pun) operatives of the Assad Militia to destabilize Lebanon, all this will only hasten its downfall... The free Lebanese should be alert, focused, vigilant, but certainly not act impulsively... The Free Syrians will ultimately prevail no doubt about that and the Assad regime will most probably meet a horrible fate, one of its own making...
I think it is time to welcome the Saeqa and settle our old score with them. It is time for the final push, we have been struggling for over 35 years and we are ready to exterminate and expunge the pest from Lebanon. Hizbistan and Saeqa and whoeverstan will stand in our way will go back to the Fakih in coffins !! Alawite style
