Abbasiyyeh Residents and Spanish Troops Clash
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةResidents of the southern town of Abbasiyyeh clashed with UNIFIL’s Spanish contingent after it prevented them from reaching their fields for not carrying permits, the National News Agency reported Saturday.
NNA said that the Spanish contingent prevented several residents from reaching their homes and olive groves in an area near a UNIFIL base, saying they did not have permits that would allow them to enter the territory abutting the border.
The UNIFIL move led to a clash between the residents and the peacekeepers which was immediately solved after members of the Lebanese army interfered.
Following the mediation of the military and contacts with UNIFIL, the peacekeepers allowed the residents to reach their homes and fields with their vehicles.
The two sides also agreed to find a radical solution to the problem to avoid any future confrontation between the U.N. troops and the residents.
lets see... who are the ones acting as a law unto themselves in lebanon? who keeps their own weapons? who keeps clashing with the army and set authority structures? will we see the army step in and arrest as they did when students innocently lit fireworks at NDU recently? what a backwards lawless corrupt country.
These guys are in remote control ! When the button is presses they wake up all over again to suit some purpose they know nothing about ! We've seen it on and on, when some explosion rocks some arms depot in residential areas than the UN soldiers are preventing from inquiring....So what is cookng then in the south ?
