Nabatieh Town Lebanese-Syrian Clash Escalates into Road Blocking
A clash between residents of the Nabatieh town of Sir al-Gharbiyeh and a number of Syrian refugees has left several people wounded from both sides, the National News Agency reported on Sunday.
“The violence erupted after a verbal dispute between the Syrian Ahmed Ata and a number of the town’s young men before escalating into a fistfight involving the of sharp objects,” NNA said.
A group of young men then gathered and attacked the Syrians, blocking the public road that links Sir al-Gharbiyeh to the town of al-Qusaibeh.
Patrols from the army and the Internal Security Forces eventually arrived on the scene and reopened the road, arresting a number of those involved in the clash, the agency added.
