Aoun: Corruption, Expenditures and Revenues Will be Controlled

President Michel Aoun stressed on Thursday that measures to combat corruption and control expenditures and revenues will be taken.
During a meeting he held with economic bodies at the Baabda Palace, Aoun stressed that “measures to control revenues, expenditures and combating corruption will be taken. There will be no turning back,” he said.
Aoun stressed that the “State is in the process of preparing an economic plan that gives the production sectors an important role.”
He pointed out that “there is a positive change in the balance of payments,” explaining that the “tourism season was successful and incomes have increased through the customs fees.”
Expenditure control is an important element of budget execution and financial resources management accountability system.
The Lebanese government has not approved a state budget since 2005 .

What a farce! Corruption is worse than ever! Tourism season is a catastrophe! Yes, during summer time we are flloded with tourists, but of the kind who visit families, don't stay at hotels, spend very little money, and certainly d not come for our wonderful beaches, or to visit the Bekaa!
Where are the big spenders? The ones who flood the the casino! Who purchase in our stores! Who book huge tables at the restaurants! Who buy vacation homes!
Down town is empty and dead! Our ocean is a trash can! Our prices are too high! Our state corrupted! Lebanon is not attractive for any one! And this government made it worse!
You want to do something about corruption? Arrest you own son in outlaw!

And for info, during years the Syrian government was taking 20% of the casino wins. I don't know if that is the case anymore. but it is one of the lawyers of the casino who had told me so years ago... I wonder who takes the money anyway....

Unbelievable! He has more advisors and hangers on than any president in the history of this country. He gave his 3 daughters official capacity and they traveled to Paris and met with the French President at our expense. Bassil travels to every corner in the world to meet a few Lebanese in the diaspora so do the Lebanese Forces minsters like Riachi and Bu Assi who is currently in the USA visiting with the Lebanese who endured the Hurricane!
This administration is corrupt beyond corrupt. But what is more shameful is when this so called president talks about his efforts to fight corruption.

Ask the Jordanians and the Egyptians just how many Israeli tourists they get since they signed peace treaties. Lebanon has a lot to learn from that.
