A family dispute has erupted into heavy gunfire in the northern city of Tripoli, forcing the army to intervene to contain the situation.

OTV reported that the dispute broke out in the city’s fish market.

Voice of Lebanon radio added that the Jinzrally, al-Bay, and Othman families were involved in the clash.

The army has since cordoned off the area.

No victims or wounded have been reported.

Tripoli has witnessed armed clashes in recent months due to tensions between the rival neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen.
