March 14: Govt. Must Hold those Responsible for Ashrafiyeh Bldg. Collapse Accountable
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe March 14 General-Secretariat condoled on Wednesday the families of the victims of the Ashrafiyeh building collapse, urging the government to provide them with proper compensation.
It voiced in a statement after its weekly meeting its support for the Beirut MPs’ demand that the government “hold those responsible for the accident accountable for it.”
Addressing the Syrian crisis, it said that its possible repercussions on the Lebanese internal scene require all Lebanese forces to exert efforts in maintaining the peace.
It therefore demanded that Hizbullah, “which possesses arms outside the state’s authority, immediately reach a final solution to its weapons.”
“It should hand over its arms to the Lebanese state in accordance with the national reconciliation treaty that was approved by the Taif accord in 1989,” it stressed.
Regarding the visits to Lebanon last week by U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, the March 14 General-Secretariat noted: “It demonstrated that Lebanon is keen on taking part in the wave of change in the region and constructing a civil state that seeks to guarantee the rights of all of its citizens.”
Its incredible, although i was with March 14th not long ago, since the collapse of the governement all they do is bark, nothing credible, just putting the blame on March 8th governement. I dont blame them on one side, because Aoun was always doing the same when it was a March 14th governement. this was to be seen, it will always stay like this, either way the governement goes the others will obstruct it just for the pleasure of doing so to come back in power. to come back to the subject, beirut Mps are responsible not the governement, thus Nadim gemayel and Nayla Tueni, which i had for both high hopes, seemed to have disappeared since they've become MPS. Only Samy ( which i admire and maybe many dont but at least the guy whether you agree with him or not, knows how to speak and works a lot more then those other two young mps.)
They are responsible of working to improve baladiyet ashrafieh along with the mayor. I believe its been more than 2 years and a half they are MPS, yet even with the March14th governement they never presented a plan, and EVEN if they did so, and it was obstructed by March 8th , there is the media, and we heard nothing about that both ways. So i guess they should stop putting the blame on the others only. Lebanon is right now more then ever in need of some brains.im very disappointed in Nadim which is nothing like his father Bachir ( whether you like him or not, he had charisma and leadership )and Nayla which is an educated young lady ( completely vanished althoug alf mabrouk she is married and i understand ) but Lebanon needs her, and she is failing to provide
The filthy Rafic Syria and then his gang ruled over 20 filthy years and have done nothing for this country than scum. So these March Useless should shut up already and bury themselves in some dumpster.
lebanese are so blind that their favorite sport is to reject the fault on the other camp!
instead of rejecting the WHOLE political class which is just a bunch of irresponsibles only worried about their bank account and privileges! none of them ever did something useful for lebanon. they just worry about being reelected and having power over people to shut them up and let them do what they want!
people should stop playing their games, unite as LEBANESE not as christians shia sunni or druzes and rebel against this middle aged country and its politicians...
but i guess living in the middle age suits the majority of people...lucky politicians who have nothing to fear from the sheep
I dont think M14 is blaming the government for the collapse of the building; all it is asked for is an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse in order to learn from. To all the comments that are blinded by their bias and fanatism, please grow up, and get with the 21st century. I love Lebanon and its people.
