Miqati Holds Meeting with Work Team before Proposing his Budget Study
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةPremier Najib Miqati has held a consultative meeting with his work team on his own proposal of the 2012 draft state budget which will be discussed by the cabinet during two sessions next week.
An Nahar daily said Sunday that Miqati’s proposal lies in a four-page report which sets the foundations of the budget to guarantee a good management of public funds and fiscal stability.
His suggestion also aims at controlling the public deficit, stimulating growth and consolidating social policies, the newspaper added.
It quoted a ministerial source as saying that the report does not mention any data or set fiscal ceilings.
Miqati will propose it to the cabinet on Monday along with Finance Minister Mohammed Safadi.
Safadi has already made a proposal on a draft state budget which is awaiting the answers of the cabinet members after studying it and presenting their own reports.
The cabinet is set to convene at Baabda palace on Monday and Tuesday to discuss the issue.
