Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Thursday hailed the historic ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during a ceremony in Bkirki.

“Saudi Arabia has not attacked Lebanon’s sovereignty and it has not violated its independence. It has breached its border and it has not entangled it in wars. It has not paralyzed its democracy and it has not ignored its state,” al-Rahi said at a ceremony celebrating the publication of the book “The Maronite Patriarchate’s Relation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.

“Saudi Arabia has supported Lebanon at the Arab and international forums, offered it financial assistance and invested in the projects of its economic and real estate rise. It has sponsored reconciliations and solutions and it has welcomed the Lebanese and offered them residency and job opportunities,” the patriarch added.

Commenting on the domestic situations, al-Rahi hoped the government will be formed soon and that the parliamentary and presidential elections will be held on time so that the Lebanese can become on the “path to salvation.”

Rahi appears to be looking for a fat check from the Saudis. He has zero credibility whatsoever when he repeats the same discourse and adapts it to please Aoun, Hezbollah, Iran, Syria. Etc.

A man without principles!

I really couldn't understand Al Rahi. His words are contradictory and contain some hypocritical contents. Yesterday, he was visiting the president, who everyone knows has put all his eggs in the basket of Huzbullah, for the sake of allowing his SIL Basil steal our money, and praised him for having his heart on Lebanon, despite the fact that everyone knows his heart is in corruption and destroying Lebanon. And now, Al Rahi praises Saudi Arabia, that Aoun and Basil have repeatedly attacked in the last four years for the sake of pleasing their ally Huzbullah. I am unable to understand Al Rahi and his stances. He could be a good man, but his words don't make any sense, especially with those who have some brains. Accordingly, I advise Al Rahi to weigh his words, or otherwise he might lose credibility and stature.
