Israel Says Foiled Arms Smuggling Attempt from Lebanon

The Israeli army on Saturday announced that it overnight thwarted the “biggest smuggling attempt of the past few years on the Lebanese-Israeli border.”
Israeli troops and police “spotted the smuggling attempt and confiscated 43 guns worth 2,700,000 Israeli shekels,” the Israeli army added.
“We are examining the possibility of Hizbullah’s involvement,” it said.
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee meanwhile reminded that Israel last week unveiled “the involvement of a Hizbullah official in drugs and arms smuggling operations across Israel’s border.”
Adraee identified the alleged Hizbullah official as “Hajj Khalil Harb”, adding that he had worked in the past as a “security adviser” for Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
