5 Dead as Clashes Erupt in Khalde during Ali Chebli's Funeral
Deadly armed clashes erupted Sunday in the coastal Khalde area south of Beirut during the funeral of a Hizbullah-linked man who was killed overnight in a vendetta shooting.
The clashes left at least five people including three Hizbullah members dead, a Lebanese security source told AFP.
Several people were also wounded in the exchange of fire.
The National News Agency said machineguns and RPG rockets were used heavily in the clashes, sparking panic among residents.
Media reports said three Hizbullah members were killed and several others were wounded when a convoy carrying Chebli’s coffin came under gunfire near his Khalde home.
MTV said shots were fired at the mourners convoy from several buildings in an apparent "ambush."
Media reports meanwhile said that the areas around Khalde were witnessing movements by Hizbullah members carrying machineguns.
The army later said that it reinforced its presence in Khalde, warning that troops would "open fire at any gunman who may be spotted in the area.
MTV for its part reports that a "political agreement" was reached on "leaving things to the army."
Chebli, an official of the Hizbullah-linked Resistance Brigades, was shot dead overnight at a wedding in Jiye by a member of Khalde's Arab tribes.
The shooter, who was swiftly arrested, is the brother of a 15-year-old teen who was killed in Khalde's clashes a year ago.

God bless our Shia resistance for protecting our borders from any invasion and for foiling the evil schemes orchestrated by the Saudi-American-Israeli-Somali-Nepali-Bengali-Morocani-Bahraini-Emirati coalition.

وكان الاعلان المفاجىء لعائلة شبلي وللسرايا صباح اليوم الأحد، ان مراسم التشييع انطلاقا من منزله في خلدة، وقعه غير السار على اهالي المنطقة الذين تأهبوا لحصول الأسوأ، وهو ما حصل فعلا ولم يخب امل المتشائمين. فما ان مرّ موكب التشييع الذي يرافقه عشرات سيارات الدفع الرباعي الممتلئة بالسلاح و مسلحين تابعين لسريا حزب الله قرب سنتر شبلي المحاذي لتعاونية رمال الساعه ٣.٣٠، حتى قام احد عناصر الحزب بالترجل وتسلق جسر خلدة، ثم عمد الى تمزيق صورة الفتى القتيل حسن غصن من العرب، الذي سقط قبل عام في اشتباك بين سرايا الحزب والاهالي من العرب،

وحصل بعدها هدنة هشة برعاية الجيش. وما ان مزق العنصر الحزبي الصورة، في تحدٍّ صريح لأهالي المنطقة وجلهم من العرب، حتى بدأ الرصاص ينهمر من كل ناحية باتجاه السيارات المسلحة التابعة لموكب التشييع، التي كانت سيطرت على كامل الطريق العام، بين الجسر وفيلا شبلي الواقعة بين خلدة وعرمون، والتي تتمركز فيها مجموعة مقاتلة تابعة لحزب الله منذ عام، على الرغم من وجود نقطة عسكرية وآلية تابعة للجيش في الطابق الارضي بالفيلا .

Perhaps, then again, most of us Lebanese would agree that a more effective measure would be eliminating the likes of you and your leaders from Lebanon forever.
Before the likes of HA existed, Lebanon was Switzerland of the ME, now it’s more like a Venezuelan/Iranian state, unfortunately.

All of this has happened because we have a mini state within the state that has arms and threatens everyone, including its Shai people, who are scared shitless from Huzbullah. That's why you don't see anyone daring to run for a deputy. Hence, this mini state should be halted by disarming huzbullah. Anything short of this is futile and would never lead Lebanon to salvation. In addtition to that, Lebanon should become civil, which means religious affiliation should not be a criteria for holding a public position, from the president down. Meritocracy should only be the criteria.
