Berri Sets Legislative Session for Feb. 22

Speaker Nabih Berri has set next Wednesday as the date for a parliamentary session to discuss a number of proposals and draft laws.
The parliament will convene on Feb. 22 at 10:30 am, his office announced.
The session will be held at a time of cabinet crisis.
President Michel Suleiman suspended a government session on Feb. 1 upon the request of Premier Najib Miqati, who accused ministers loyal to Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun of obstructing the cabinet’s work.
Miqati insists that he won’t call for new sessions unless the ministers give him assurances that the government will be productive.
