Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed Tehran’s continued support for Lebanon in a letter that the country’s visiting deputy foreign minister delivered to President Michel Suleiman on Friday.

The letter states “Iran’s permanent support for Lebanon in all fields and at all levels,” a presidential statement said.

The deputy FM for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, held talks with Suleiman at the Baabda Palace in the presence of Iranian Ambassador Ghazanfar Roknabadi, it said.

The two sides discussed the latest developments, the statement added.

Also Friday, the Lebanese president held talks with Finance Minister Mohammed al-Safadi and MPs Atef Majdalani and Shant Chinchinian.
