Geagea Calls for Eradication of Lebanon’s ‘Evil’
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةLebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea said Thursday that Lebanon’s development and economic problems would not be resolved as long as the “evil” continues to grip the country.
“We won’t be able to achieve our objective in terms of a capable and effective institutional state before the eradication of the evil,” Geagea told a visiting delegation.
“Education, agriculture, water, electricity, roads and pollution … won’t improve as long as the evil is controlling the country and people can’t express their opinions,” he stressed.
“Is it forbidden to have different opinions in politics,?” Geagea asked. “Should we eliminate the other point of view through killings and assassinations?”
Geagea escaped an assassination attempt earlier this month when snipers failed to shoot him at long distance as he was walking in the garden of his fortified residence in Maarab.
“It seems that it is prohibited for someone … to grow bigger than his (political) size,” he told the delegation.
Targeting the government, Geagea said his murder attempt was “planned by a big team with high tech capabilities that are only owned by armies and major powers under the gaze of the Lebanese state.”
“If it was aware of it, then this is a disaster and if it was not, then this is a bigger disaster,” he said.
Wow FT... did you come up with this one alone? Original, inventive, creative, full of spirit...really a genius comment... thank you for elevating the debate...
FT, you have been enlightening us with your great postings and knowledge of the Lebanese political scene. Your contributions are sometimes so pathetic, that it has become more enjoyable to read them and see what the others will reply, than commenting on the content of the article itself. Keep it up OR, if you have nothing to do, don't do it here.
thank you FT, you are such a intelligent and witty person. almost as intelligent as we2am wahab, nasser andeel, alan aoun, fayez shouker, ibrahim ken3an, micheal smea7a.. ya3ni, you still need some work but you'll get there eventually.
They are very well trained in Iran or Israel the two excess of evil, who keeps creating troubles for Lebanese and who to blame the weak Lebanese politicians Like Geagea, Aoun, and Hezbollah
How desperate is the Man:
On Tuesday he invited some Kesrwan prime persons (mayors, Makahtir...) for a political meeting and then when they got there he told them: "thank you for coming to resent my assassination attempt" so many of them wanted to leave because they felt screwed but the security asked them “nicely” to stay. Then the Hrajel Mayor recited a zajal where he compares Geagea to the Christ and Patriarch to the Pharisees so most of the crowd (about 150prs) left the room in resention despite his attempts and the one of his security to convince the m to stay.
FT has issues and id def recommend the prozacs his father uses!!!
Now seriously where have u ever seeen or heard a country that has 3 states.. hizbs, palentinians arms, and the army itself... All im sayin is we expats def wanna come back home and live under one rule peacefully and that all laws r applied in every village town and city in lebanon...
when will that happen, mmmmmmm NEVER !!!
seriously FT say something new ENLIGHTEN us...telling us that the so-called doctor is EVIl is old school talk and a given...the lebanese version of nazi ideology is close to extinction and giving attention to an undomesticated dog is pointless for now
Mr Geagea,
If you really care about 'Lebanon’s development and economic problems', then you must sincerely retire and make room for a new generation of Lebanese leaders..
YOU were and continue to be part of the problem, and as long as you are on the Lebanese national scene, Christian unity will not be established. You have not brought anything new to the table to solve any disputes..
Enough is enough
Did you ever consider that what’s best for your country is not to be subservient to political leaders who never did anything for you or your family?
Stop drinking so much GMA and Nasrallah Kool-Aid and ask yourself what has either of them done for you or your family to make your life better?
Mr.geagea seems to forget that now that Harriri os out all sectors are improoving:
1- agricultures: an increase of 10 Billion LBP in our agricultur related exports
2- electricity: with the new plan this summer we'll have 14 hours ON compared to about 8hours ON during the last 5 years.
3-pollution will decrease if we start using GPl and Diesel cars,
but i guess the worst blind is the one refusing to see
3-
no JC diesel cars are less polluting then the regular ones of course if they use green diesel and if they are factory origin not changed in lebanon ;))
How many plants have to be consumed worldwide and entire population starved to death to have a sustainable Green Diesel policy? Only fools jump in first and ask questions later.
Most green technologies come at the expense of contradictory methods of production. Electric cars at the expense of burning other fuels such as charcoal and oil to create energy at the plant to supply the battery in the car, BIO diesel at the expense of increased cost the planting and harvesting corn and lack of supply for human consumption, etc, etc....
slash please need some scientific magazines bfore commenting, if u live in France or USA (u live in a new countrywith every comment) u'll know that green diesel is much less polluting then regular GAzoline
Your biased and prejudiced point of view coupled with your ignorance of the facts clearly indicates you suffer from an acute Harriri derangement syndrome. The cure for this ailment is being honest with yourself and others. Unfortunately honesty cannot be sold or purchased; it comes from having morals which you obviously lack. I pity you and I feel sorry for you.
I don't like the man and I don't support him but really come one some objectivity! Yes there was an attempt to kill him...What's so surprising?!
man there was no attempt just a bad scenario! all clues indicate that.. seriously do you believe the flower thing, is his bending faster then a bullet and thus faster then sound? maybe if he was Abu el abed he would bend faster then his shadow ;))
Flame thrower what is the use talking about fuel, gas , diisel etc when you & 1/3 of the country
Donot pay for their electricity
At least he is Lebanese, unlike some we hear of, which are iranians!
furthermore, it is noteable how much m8 people advocate the killing of lebanese: just re read your own comments!
he summed it up : hezbollah is the evil of lebanon by not applying the laws of the state and thinking they are above them...by using them against lebanese citizens, by threatening an MP to use them if he didn t change side...
and hezbi supporters think it s normal that a political party disobey their own country ... pretty nice for people pretending to be "patriots"!
Anyone reading these comments can tell how damaging each event is to M8 by how hard they try to discredit the story on this website. Some of the attempts are absolutely comical. Especially the insider information Keserwneh tends to have. why waste your time on here? you should be making millions along with the rest of them on the kick backs they get from every project that is grossly overbid. It makes me sick to my stomach every time I see the dollar amount each project requires.
Who tried to Assassinate Geha? It is the same EVIL who tried to assassinate GeaGea.
Who is the outlaw today not paying Electricity and undermining the state? it is the same EVIL.
Who continues to build his own telecommunication network on the state expense (Call before you dig because we want a piece of the hole too), the same EVIL.
Wake up and smell the coffee for those who are playing Stevie Wonder.
Your biased and prejudiced point of view coupled with your ignorance of the facts clearly indicates you suffer from an acute anti Geagea/LF syndrome. I pitty you and I feel sorry for you.
You would rather spend your time torturing your keyboard with your insulting words than spend your time doing constructive things like earning a living, paying your bills and being a productive member of society. I pitty you and feel sorry for you.
