Aoun: Some Powers Trying to Spread Syrian Unrest to Lebanon to Make us Surrender to Foreign Forces

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun noted on Wednesday that a large number of Lebanese have steered away from the path of resistance and forgotten about the Israeli threat against Lebanon.

He said: “Some sides are seeking to spread the unrest in Syria to Lebanon in order for us to surrender” to foreign powers.

He made his remarks before a student gathering at the Lebanese University in Hadath on the occasion of Resistance and Liberation day, which falls on May 25.

Addressing the government situation, Aoun remarked: “No one should dream that we will leave the government because that will only worsen the situation in Lebanon.”

“The military institution protects itself. We live in a democratic country and whoever governs it should be competent to perform his duty,” said the FPM chief.

The formation of a neutral government means standing at an equal distance between good and evil, he said in response to opposition calls to form a neutral government to supervise the 2013 parliamentary elections.

“We cannot make peace with sides that stole public funds. They should assume their responsibilities,” continued the MP.

Addressing the Resistance and Liberation day, he remarked: “The day is a product of the resistance’s blood and hard work.”

“The day is a culmination of a series of confrontations with Israel,” Aoun added.

A true nut case. Pity the nation. The inmates are running the asylum

Default-user-icon saddened (Guest) 23 May 2012, 21:54

they have been running it since 1975 The sad thing is the people have become so used to it that the whole country is under the influence of mob mentality and are ready to kill eachother over politics, unfortunatley to have a political cause you first need to have some kind of government or legitimate political party. These have not exsisted in this country for a long time. All we have are self serving egomaniacal money grabbing sociopaths.

“Some sides are seeking to spread the unrest in Syria to Lebanon in order for us to surrender” to foreign powers"

Dude you've outdone everyone when in 1990 you surrendered to two foreign powers simultaneously, the Syrians and the French while deserting your army.

what is interesting in orangina s speeches is that he never says things always "they" "some powers" "foreign countries" . by being so evasive people can put whatever they want behind them and say "oh! yes he s right!" as it will always apply to somebody!! it always appears as if there was a plot or conspiracy against FPM as he always manage to twist things to appear as a victim!
even now that his party is ruling the gvt there is still a conspiracy to prevent them from working! victimization is what works best in politics, nothing new under the sun!

when those sheeps following this crazy man realize that sunni are the majority in the region and that inciting hatred against them is stupid; you are free to like/hate whomever you want, but making sunni your ennemy (as this lunatic working hard for this goal) will give you the blessing and the protection from the arm of hizb iran on the short term, but gonna hurt you real bad on the long term!

The confessional divides have allowed the lebanese politics to be controlled by leaders who use the sectarian fears to stay indefinitely in power regardless of their mistakes and corruptions.
Exhibit A

Default-user-icon awakened (Guest) 23 May 2012, 21:48

lebanon aready answers to forign powers and the ones they listen to are the ones who line their pockets the most. The so called govenment in this country is a puppet for corupt agencies propheting from Lebanons stratigic position and it recource as the greatest supply of fresh water in the middle east. The Israilies dont want us for our beaches or tourisim we have something more valuable than oil and thats water. This government has been selling of water rights in the south to the israilies for years. Sleeping with the enemy and giving them a drink of water at the same time!!!!!!

so since you cannot agree or anything nor govern, does that mean you are incompetent?
