Jumblat Hails Berri-Hariri Talks, Says Only Dialogue Can Solve Problems
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةProgressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat on Friday called for dialogue “for the sake of rescuing the country and overcoming obstacles,” stressing that “nothing is impossible.”
Commenting on the release on Friday of 11 Lebanese Shiite pilgrims who were abducted in Syria’s Aleppo, Jumblat told Future News television: “The phone call between (former) premier Sheikh Saad Hariri and Speaker Nabih Berri was the most important thing, because problems can be overcome through communication and dialogue.”
“The phone call made me optimistic and we hope meetings and talks will be held at a broader level, according to the calls for dialogue voiced by Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and President Michel Suleiman,” Jumblat added.
Addressing the latest unrest in the North, the Druze leader said: “After the tensions that erupted in Tripoli and after the killing of sheikhs Ahmed Abdul Wahed and Mohammed Merheb in Akkar, efforts were exerted to restore calm because only rapprochement and dialogue can solve problems.”
I see both of you (@benzona & @jcamerican) on Naharnet and you give me hope for a brighter and better Lebanon.
You realize that no one knows what position they're taking if it weren't for the other.
You guys can't live without each other.
there is nothing wrong with differences and various view it is good and healthy for democracy and freedom .the problem is how you react to those differences and how you accept those views , judging for our past and knowing the Lebanese culture we do not have good track record , i wish we can just agree to disagree , we can not even do that .
