Lebanese Dead, Another Hurt, Held in Ambush by Syrian Army

The Syrian army on Sunday opened fire on three Lebanese nationals on the outskirts of the Rashaya town of Kfarqouq on the Lebanese-Syrian border, killing a man and wounding and arresting another, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported.
Citing reports, NNA said the three were trying to smuggle cigarette packets into Syria when they fell into an “advanced ambush” by the Syrian forces on the international border in an area northeast of Kfarqouq.
NNA identified the slain man as Rami al-Asmar, aka Rami al-Nouri, saying he succumbed to his wounds although the Lebanese army offered him medical treatment and transported him from the area.
NNA said Nasser Yehia Arabi was wounded and arrested by Syrian troops, adding that Bilal Zeineddine managed to flee the ambush.

Before 1982, israel could abduct Lebanese from the south, kill in the south and violate Lebanese sovereignty in south. After 82, they are not capable of doing that. They are actually not even doing that at all during the 2000:s According to nasrullah ( his last speech). That´s how effective mokawame is.
Northern part of Lebanon 2012. Syria can Violate Lebanese Sovereignty whenever they want, They can abduct Lebanese citizens whenever they want and they can murder Lebanese citizens whenever they want.
This is somehow making me feel the mokawame is needed, but it´s in the wrong end of the country...

The Moqawama is crippling the army and the State. So all we need is better equipped army, demarcated borders with Syria and maybe moqawama in the form of ANSAR ELJAISH.... trained and equipped by the army and under the army's command (more like what Switzerland has). Unfortunately we have too many foreign loyalties for such thing to work.

yeah dude we know we can vote but it seems every time the millions of people here place their votes against the current government the votes get thrown out or twisted around. sami gemmayel had to come all the way here 2 weeks ago to clarify with the lebanese to stop placing votes until we are told to do so, because every vote that has been cast has been disregarded if it went against the current government

There is no difference between the Israeli and Syrian borders, and I believe everyone agrees. I am a believer of making peace with Israel so that Sheb3a and every meter of Lebanon is returned to Lebanon. The borders with Israel should be opened so that the Palestinians return and pass thru to Gaza, it is to the advantage of every true Lebanese versus keeping the PLO armed in the camps. Why are they armed in the camps? to fight with the riffle/RPG the F16? Iran refuses to admit Israel existence, but the fact of the matter is that the latter owns nuclear bombs and make them disappear is similar to making the middle east disappear and that's a fact that unfortunately the robots in Lebanon are afraid to live in reality because their external support will cease.
