Hariri: Tripoli Clashes are a Syrian Plot to Set Lebanon on Fire
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةFormer Prime Minister Saad Hariri accused on Monday Syria of seeking to destabilize Lebanon in order to divert attention from the developments in its country.
He said via Twitter: “What happened in Tripoli recently is proof the Syrian regime is unrelenting in its plot to set Lebanon on fire.”
“I salute the efforts of Tripoli's civil society, the army, and Internal Security Forces to put an end to civil strife in the city,” he added.
“It is clear the Syrian regime wants to divert attention and create a sectarian conflict in both Lebanon and Syria. It will fail,” he stressed.
The fighting with machineguns and Rocket Propelled Grenades between the mostly Sunni Bab al-Tabbaneh, whose residents oppose Syrian President Bashar Assad, and the Alawite Jabal Mohsen that supports the embattled leader has left 14 people dead and more than 50 wounded since Saturday.
Addressing the torching of a library in Tripoli, which is owned by an Alawite, Hariri tweeted: “I condemn vandalism against any Alawite shop in Tripoli. It is unacceptable and only serves the sectarian plot of the Syrian regime.”
Hariri tell your FSA allies in Syria to stop murdering innocent Alewites and Christians since you claim that they are not "sectarian". Your father was installed in Lebanon by the Syrian Mukhabaret.
There is no comparison for what the Syrian regime did in Lebanon and what the Lebanese Fascists did in massacring innocent Palestinian refugees, Syrian Nationals (workers), and especially Lebanese.
You want to control the country via the Internet ?? Your not Bill Gates and who want to control he must be afraid
we rewcently paid 32million to stl and it has gone nowhere...32million could have given everyone in lebanon access to twitter and he would not have to return he could speak to everyone...honestly this is pathetic
Does this man still believe that his father was killed by the Syrians? I am not a supporter of Syria and I was glad when they left the country but for what purpose would the Syrians kill Hariri?
