'Raise Your Voice' Hacks Two Government Websites

A group calling itself ‘Raise Your Voice’ hacked on Saturday the official website for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (pcm.gov.lb) and the website of Administrative Reform and Development (omsar.gov.lb), demanding the government to halt electricity rationing during the summer.

“When will we have electricity?” the group asked on the front page.

In April, RYV hacked around 15 Lebanese government websites demanding an improvement in living standards.

The hackers posted a caricature on the home page of the premiership’s website depicting a skinny man, representing the people, feeding a fat man described as the government, on its right a photo of bread and on the left a photo of a candle.

The group wrote under the caricature: “Do you ministers have electricity? Why does everything have fall on the shoulders of the people?”

“Enough! Get us the electricity back!” the group said.

RYV previously vowed to continue hacking the government sites until the Lebanese people earn the rights they are asking for and until living standards are improved.

Lebanon’s electricity crisis has widened at the beginning of the summer as several areas are suffering from major blackouts.

The lingering electricity crisis has become a burden on citizens after shortages at its power plants whose maximum capacity is less than 1,500 megawatts.

The country’s actual need exceeds 2,300 megawatts.

What miqati doing in Rio? This summit isn't going to get us the billions we need to build the overdue power plants. Having an m8 government means that rich and industrialized nations don't trust us, lebanon's peculiar problems can only be solved through totalitarian regimes. How sad is this.

It is unbelievable of the delay of the "24 hour electricity project" that has been on the news for a long while. If Lebanon had no water and electricity shortages, it would be the best. But these electricity shortages aren't funny. Those people who get electricity shortages very frequently, are protesting for their LIFE. Electricity is the most essential need these days other than water, that has shortages and food that is now faysid because of electricity shortages. Its not funny anymore... The Lebanese have had more than enough. Maw haram 3a sha3b Lebnen. What do they think la7em el faysid is from? It is from electricity shortages. Why are they arresting those selling the la7em el faysid if they aren't giving them electricity. It is also unbelievable that since M8 has more MP's than M14, they should pass the contract since they are majority. There is so much opportunity for this dream, but you just need the right people do it. Once again, haram 3a hal balad. Walla haram.

Yes good for them, and shame, shame, shame on the press and on business community who should be hammering this and past goverments everyday, until the country has electricity
