A dispute between al-Ghossein and al-Karaki families erupted in al-Musharrafieh area in Beirut’s southern suburb on Thursday.

A source from al-Moqdad family told Naharnet that the dispute included two people from al-Karaki family and two others from al-Ghossein family.

The dispute took place in al-Moqdad Street over an old quarrel between the two families, the source said.

It added that the army intervened to contain the situation, kicking out al-Karaki members from the area.

The National News Agency had reported earlier that four people were wounded in a personal dispute that erupted between the Moqdad family and al-Karaki in al-Musharrafieh area.

According to the news agency, the dispute erupted between Najib Karaki and an unidentified member of the Moqdad family which widened into clashes between the two families.

The NNA said that Najib was slightly wounded while his brother Issa Karaki was seriously injured in the head and they were both transferred to al-Sahel hospital.

It added that a woman that was on the balcony of her house was wounded in addition to a child that was on the street.

The army swiftly intervened to control the incident.

Last week, clashes with machineguns erupted in the Beirut southern suburb of al-Kafaat between members of the al-Moqdad family and “others from Hizbullah,” news reports said.

why not throw them all in prison? maybe they will learn to live side by side, once and for all.

I am planning to launch a nation wide campaign to collect funds for the most important investment the country desperately needs: A HUGE MEGA-PRISON compound. this will be the best investment for all law abiding citizens, this is an investment in the country's security. A prison large enough to house the thousands of thugs roaming our streets.. and rats living underground waiting for their local and foreign masters to let them out into daylight and raise havoc.

Falatein! God bless the army! All weapons should be under the control of the state...that is if we want a real state (and there lies the question).

Jobs. The solution is jobs. Let them work. Work gives 3afyeh, it gives these poor lost souls hope for a better future. They will quit being trouble makers. Why dont southern suburbites accept work on sites that syrian workers accept? Anybody has an answer on how to make them work?

You are looking for cheap labouror not qualified one.. which is understood as employer with cost cutting approach! but watch the quality control so that buildings don't fall after 10 years! And an advice, get your buildings insured!

The first mission of all government is to maintain order. This one doesn't come close to mission #1

Thumb eli-g 22 June 2012, 01:07

weak government allowing everyone who has weapons to go unpunished when they use it creats havoc. The only solution is Guns free Lebanon starting with the palestinians and the sunnies all the way to Hizballah and strong and swift persecution.

Missing nickvegas 22 June 2012, 13:51

Blame on them and o hezbollah

This is the normal side effect from people having weapons ,as known weapon should should be with the army to be strong and protect people.

And this is become mental issues in areas that hezbollah control that any thing will be fixed using force.

Trust me and be realistic guys, Patlestinians in Lebanon have no option here; they have been waiting for Arab countries to do something for them, nothing happened/happens, peace negotiations with Isreal for us to return is not happening. The remaining option for the palestinians is to carry on with fighting which again is not allowed by lebanese government which is repected and understood by Palestinians. That palestinians stay in the camps is an Arab world decision, not ours! Sorry to be burden on you! you need to get the lebanese government to discuss this with the Arab council and hopefully we can move to another country, because we are really fed up with this tension and being there without the minimum right in this country! Lebanese and all nationalities are well treated in Canda, Brazil, Gulf and even in Africa! why don't you accept to treat us the same way you are treated outside lebanon?
