Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat said Monday that “the challenges facing the new Egyptian president are many,” adding that the victory of Mohammed Morsi as Egypt’s president is a “gradual progress towards strengthening the achievements of the revolution which led to the uprooting of dictatorship, and paving the way for democracy.”

In his weekly editorial in the PSP-affiliated al-Anbaa magazine, Jumblat said that the Egyptian president faces many challenges to develop the country and its people “including the installation of the emerging democratic system and expanding the base of political participation, as well as economic challenges in terms of fighting against poverty and illiteracy.”

PSP leader stated that the “Egyptian official institutions, especially the judiciary, have proven themselves once again by staying away from political and sectarian conflicts,” adding that “the judiciary which conducted the historic trial of former President Hosni Mubarak and some associates, and the presidential election commission which oversaw the elections, in addition to many other institutions proved its responsibility and ability to keep up with challenges involved.”

“The Egyptians proved that they are committed to the decisions of the institutions, reflecting their high culture and consciousness,” Jumblat added, pointing out that the Egyptian people “do not surrender easily no matter how complicated the problems get.”

I would ask Jumblat to leave the governing of Egypt to the Egyptian because they are smart and have institutions that could let them become a democratic country. Jumblat's attention should be centered on Lebanon and its problems: Electricity, water, poverty and also the biased Judicial system we have. lebanon has many ills and hence no lebanese can give Egypt lesson in how to manage itself. As i said before, every leader should concentrate on fixing his country.

You cannot say that Jumblat is not the biggest fan of democracy OUTSIDE HIS TERRITORY ONLY. You cannot find a creature more honorable that Jumblat. Not even the living martyr Marwan Hamadeh comes close. But had Marwan Hamadeh been a dead martyr, then definitely he would have a dusting of honor, something he lacks by remaining alive.
