Charles Aznavour Performs at the Jounieh International Festival

International icon, the beloved French chanson entertainer Charles Aznavour performed live Friday on the Fouad Shehab stadium as part of the Jounieh International Festival 2012 that got rolling on June 29.

The 88-year-old, who made his stage debut at the age of nine, started the evening with his famous Je N'ai Pas Vu le Temps Passer followed by a number of romantic songs including, La Boheme, Paris au Mois d'Aout, Que C'est Triste Venise, L' Amour C'est Comme Un Jour, Non Je N’ai Rien Oublie.

In an interview with Agence France Presse early this year, Aznavour openly complained about his physical condition saying: “Physically, I'm not the man I was, I have fatigue that I did not used to get. I moved around, often I danced on stage, I cannot do it anymore,” but assured that he is not ready to stop.

During his career, he has written nearly 1,000 songs. He recently completed a musical and still claims to be working "a lot."

Jounieh International Festival has issued what it called an “event packed” program and festivities this year that kicked off on June 29 and will continue until July 8.

The programs included fireworks, boat shows, parades, kids' events and once in a lifetime concerts by Aznavour and Anglo-Irish Chris De Burgh scheduled for a one night stand on July 8.
