Akkar Villages Shelled Hours After Syrian ‘Apology’

Syrian shells hit northern Lebanon on Saturday night hours after the Lebanese presidential palace announced that Syrian officials had vowed to hold accountable those responsible for cross-border shelling.
A Baabda palace statement said: “Syrian officials vowed through contacts made with them to hold accountable those who shelled (the northern district of Akkar on Thursday night) and apologized for the mistake that happened without the knowledge of (Syrian) authorities.”
The statement also said that the officials vowed to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
A police officer was injured and several houses were damaged on Thursday night when around 30 shells landed on the Akkar towns and villages of Munjez, Kherbet al-Rumman, Aamar al-Baykat, al-Dbabiyeh and al-Noura.
However, the statement issued by Baabda palace on Saturday was followed several hours later by new shelling on the Akkar border towns of Munjez, al-Noura and al-Kwaishra.
The late night shelling caused a huge migration by the people residing in the towns to safer areas.

I hate to see any lebanese casualities due to the syrian aggression. But this is the best thing that could happen to Lebanon. Now it is very clear to everyone that the ASSad regime is an enemy of the Lebanese State and its people, both Christians and Muslims.
Akkar is the new Zahle and Ashrafieh, and it will soon become the burial ground of ASSad and all his cronies.

There are 4 enemies to Lebanon in this order: 1) The Hezz who terrorize from inside the country for Syria and Iran. 2) Syria who has killed all the politicians and journalists with the help of the Hezz. 3) Iran who is helping the Hezz force people off their land and destroy the society. 4) Israel who the Hezz started a war with in 2006.

I would rather have diplomatic relations with Israel than with the lying bastards of Syria. Israel always tells you where they stand--Syria says one thing and does the opposite seemingly without apology or guilt.

how come the the so called resistance allies who claimed victory against isreal were ok with the 40000 unifil troops (foreign invaders)sent to lebanons south border. and they are babbling about western intervention is syria, which im against by the way both of them, but it shows there hypocrisy and its shows there true colors. unifil came to protect under the guise of HA proxy war. they achieved nothing except maybe a monoply on the country

Seems like Akkar should "twein" with Sderot in Israel. They are both being shelled by terrorist regines -- Syria and Gaza.
