إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةAn arrest warrant was issued on Friday against a Major on charges of smuggling weapons to Syria, reported al-Manar television.
It said that the charges were made against Major Wissam Abdul Khaliq and that it remains unclear if he is a member of the army or any other security agency.
On August 30, security forces arrested a Lieutenant Colonel and two civilians on charges of arms trade, state-run National News Agency reported, noting that the three men were arrested between Beirut and the Bekaa.
The Lieutenant Colonel hails from Western Bekaa, NNA said.
Meanwhile, security sources told al-Manar television that “the officer arrested by the army intelligence was seeking to buy weapons to smuggle them to Syria.”
“The officer is a Major and the son of a retired Major General who hails from the town of Majdal Anjar. He was arrested in a Beirut suburb with $50,000 in his possession,” the sources added.

Naharnet is now in the business of forecasting the future ;-)
@ the1phoenix: point well made. Those are the thugs that make our borders porous to begin with and guess who they belong to ... yup, you guessed it none other than ashraf el nass.
They should arrest anyone who violated the UN resolution. They should deploy their troops in beqaa and south and get the illegal rockets one by one. Storm Dahye and arrest the criminals one by one, do i need to add the Mokdad and Jaafar mafias?
I don't see anything wrong with what he did. He did the right thing. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of Lebanese soldiers who are against bashar criminal regime and seeing there brethren being slaughtered , they do what they can. Anyone that has a drop of humanity in him would feel with those innocent.
You mean to tell me Hizbollah's arsenal weapons were smuggled to Lebanon via the Lebanese borders without any knowledge of the Lebanese security system that was planted by the Syrian regime before they left Lebanon.
