Speaker Nabih Berri stated on Wednesday that he will support any Christian agreement over a parliamentary electoral law.

He said: “I will not reject any law that enjoys the agreement of all Christian powers.”

He made his remarks after his weekly meeting with lawmakers.

The speaker said that the joint committees will convene soon in order to study the government's electoral draft law.

“The government's law adheres to the standards mentioned in the Taef Accord,” noted Berri.

The cabinet had approved an electoral law based on 13 electoral districts and proportional representation.

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi had granted disputed Christian political powers ten days to resolve their differences over the electoral law, reported the daily An Nahar on Wednesday.

The master of BS waits till after Hezbollah's lackey and General ass kisser Aoun refused to give the Christians the representation they deserve with smaller voting districts to come up with "I Won't Reject Any Electoral Law that Enjoys Christian Agreement", brilliant!

Christians never agree :) that's why Berri said it. He is brilliant enough to know that christians leaders have one vision today: fight for total leadership in (what remains of) lebanon! enjoy.

Belatedly as though Berri had realised, Christians in Lebanon and all the Arab world are elements of stability and balance. Now that the crisis has turned to Shai-Sunni and is bound to escalate even more, Berri is sensing that the only people that could bring logic and rationality are the Christian who cherish freedom and are moderate in their approaches to civic co-existence. I commend Berri on this. No matter what happens in Syria after Assad, Lebanon will remain an independent country where Christians and Muslims will live side by side and peacefully co-exist. having said that, why not all the Lebanese start being wise and stop fighting and come to rebuilding their country on sound basis.
