Families of Aazaz Abductees Visit Tombs of Hariri, Hasan with March 14 Youths
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةA delegation from the families of the Lebanese abductees in Syria's Aleppo on Tuesday visited the tombs of slain former premier Rafik Hariri and Intelligence Bureau chief Maj. Gen. Wissam al-Hasan in downtown Beirut, escorted by members of March 14's youth organizations and parents of Lebanese in Syrian prisons.
"Rafik Hariri transformed Lebanon from a war zone into the dream country every ones wishes to have,” said Mahdi Zgheib on behalf of the group.
Zgheib added that the purpose of this visit was to eliminate feuds in order to peacefully come out of this critical phase.
"If protesting in front of the Syrian embassy would serve our cause, we will certainly do so as a next step,” expressed Adham Ali Zgheib, whose father was abducted in the neighboring country.
Eleven Lebanese Shiite pilgrims were kidnapped by an armed group calling itself the Northern Storm Brigade in the Aleppo town of Aazaz on May 22 as they were returning home from a pilgrimage in Iran.
One abductee was released in August in what his captors said was a “goodwill” gesture while Awad Ibrahim was released in September.
The delegation then marched alongside members of March 14 towards Riad al-Solh square where a symbolic seminar took place.
Its our youth that are our future. Time to clean house of all the people who brought us to this point and turn our country over (eventually) to our educated youths.
Wow ya haram, these ppl being used as political pawns. The youths should, in return, march with the families in front of the Turkish n Qatari embassies.
I'm anti-M8, but ALL Lebanese should be against Syrians kidnapping our citizens. Whether its bashar or the fsa, they hate us. The regime took its fill, now it's the rebels turn?
Major sections of the Shia are questioning and pulling away from Nassy and his thugs.
This situation is awkwardly funny. They'd do anything to get their relatives back... it's actually pathetic for their community (not for them though as it's a proof of courage). The next step is for each of them to send a son to Syria and fight along side the FSA.
