Hizbullah Accuses U.S. of ‘Poisoning’ Cabinet Formation Process

Hizbullah accused the Untied States on Saturday of hindering the formation of the new Lebanese government and using the international tribunal as a tool to change the balance of power in the country.

Deputy head of Hizbullah’s executive council Sheikh Nabil Qaouq said: “The international tribunal has become a political tool in the local political balance of power that the U.S. and its followers in Lebanon are using to confront the current parliamentary majority.”

He said reports that the tribunal would issue the indictment in July mean that the U.S. wants to block the formation of the cabinet which when formed it would defeat the “American veto.”

The government lineup is “closer than ever,” Qaouq said. “Every time the formation of the cabinet makes progress, it reminds us of the U.S. and its conditions in an overt attempt to poison the positive atmosphere.”

Hizbullah MP Nawwaf Moussawi confirmed that significant progress was made in the formation of the new government but warned that U.S. ambassador Maura Connelly was exerting pressure on the process.

“The choice of ministers and the policy statement are not made by U.S. dictations but by Lebanese will,” he stressed.

The new parliamentary majority insists on holding onto a nationalistic cabinet that represents all Lebanese sects, Moussawi said.

Hassan cannot admit that it was his stupid decisions that are hindering the formation of the new Lebanese government. His pompous idiotic plan to topple the previous cabinet and threaten Jumblatt on the way to appointing Mikati without having a backup plan have left the country rudderless facing a disastrous summer season. The moron does not understand that most people work for a living and they count on their income in summer season to help make ends meet. Most people don't wake up in the morning and find suitcases full of Iranian cash at they door step for them to spend freely to build bombs and buy politicians like Aoun and journalists like Azziz.

They are waiting for Bashar, to give the OK. Meanwhile, those stooges have nothing else to do than to cripple the country, and start accusing left and right, and the mini market owner too down the street who is responsible in poisoning the process.

What a shame!

All the US has done is to suggest that if a government is formed that does not comply with Lebanon's international obligations, that it will not receive US support. It is the right of any state to withhold aid to another state when its interests so require.

Syria did this, Iran does it with regard to Hezbollah, they all do it. It is called international relations and state craft.

But it is not to worry so much about Hezbollah. It is fruit hanging on the twig attached to a dead branch. Assad is done and over. What comes next in Syria will not be Hezbollah friendly. What weapons Hezbollah has is all that it will get. Fire them and you lose them, not to be replinished.

So threaten others with your weapons, that way you can use them without exhaustion. But when the people you threaten figure that you will never use the weapons, then the threats, too, become empty and Hezbollah will either have to learn politics, to survive, or go the way of the dinosaur to extinction.

Yes the US Syria and Israel are involved with the formation of the Gov in lebanon. The US will try to undermine any Gov with Hizballah in it.
On the other hand Iran and Syria will never allow a march 14 gov.
Its the pulling of the rope game. The only people hurt in this game is the Lebanese people it does not matter what religion they belong to.
That is so sad . Lebanon needs a miracle in the land of Miracles.
