Two unidentified men on Tuesday dropped a gasoline bottle and set it on fire on the wall of Dar al-Fatwa's parking lot, the National News Agency reported.

"The bottle was hurled in a waste contained near the wall,” the NNA detailed, adding that the parking attendant was able to control the flames.

The Internal Security Forces have inspected the location and opened an investigation in this incident, according to the NNA.

This comes two days after Dar al-Fatwa clerics Sheikh Mazen Hariri and Sheikh Ahmed Fakhran were beaten up in the Shiite area of Khandaq al-Ghamiq on Sunday while two other clerics, one of them identified as Omar al-Imami were attacked in the southern Beirut suburb of Shiyyah.

As the news broke out on Sunday, angry protesters blocked roads in the Beirut areas of Tariq al-Jedideh, Qasqas and Corniche al-Mazraa, as well as Sidon's entrance in the South and al-Masnaa's road in the Bekaa.

Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani urged calm and restraint after the attack, stressing that the perpetrators “will not go unpunished."
